10.11.5 Beta (15F28b) - it looks to be fixed.

I've currently taken the advice of the Carddav option on my office and home iMac 5k but both iMacs still often freeze on contacts. I also have my iPhone and iPads....should i be adding the carddav to these too or continue to use the current setup using my accounts in "mail, contacts, calendar? PS I use a google account and an iCloud account.

I also agree Office 2016 has been a total disaster where spreadsheets are re-sized and graphics completely changed......so not useable after paying Microsoft a monthly fee simply for frustration.

Also, what is it with the new iMac and bluetooth loosing connection with the mouse several times a day...... this is frankly ridiculous and I'm so p*ssed off at apple for churning out this crap untested software / hardware again and again.......I'm a professional user and it feels like i'm using a set of computers costing £££££ made by a toy company!!

Any advice to improve any of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Pete

The workaround is for Macs only. It's still working for me.

If you're having other issues you should probably start a separate thread.

Thank you! Yes, it works.
Only - I had to turn on “Allowing less secure apps to access your account” in Google options. Otherwise impossible to create an CardDAV account.

10.11.3 Beta (15D9c) - it's not fixed.

That option is not available if you have two step access to your Google account. So, without making the Google account itself less secure, I'm stuck with Contacts working in my iPhone but botched on my MacBook.

By the way, unchecking the gmail link before trying CardAv (and having that not work) still leaves Contacts performing very slow.

Edit: I might have found a new workaround. I restored the checkbox for Contacts in the gmail account. (This was in System Preferences, Internet Accounts.) I then opened Contacts, went to the top menu on my screen, Contacts -> Preferences -> Gmail CardAv. In the dropdown menu I set it to fetch every hour instead of automatically. Now Contacts functions well.
