Interesting to read this. Can you please confirm exactly how you installed these drivers using Pacifist? (what files to where etc.) Thanks.

Yes, can you break this down? Is this easy for a noobie to do and what are the risks?

I would also suggest anyone using a Nvidia chipset (dedicated chipset) download and install the Quadro & GeForce OSX Driver. It may say that its for the mac pro only but you can still install it via pacifist. I got a big fps boost in WoW and now it seems my OSX client of ESO runs on par if not better than it does on bootcamp for me now.

Would this download be ok to use on an iMac with 2048mb 680MX in it? Will I see performance improvements and is it an easy upgrade to do?

Download the driver. Open Pacifist and choose "Open package". Point it to the webdriver-331.pkg file. You'll be shown a screen showing the .pkg file and its contents. Just click on the ".pkg" file and choose "install" It will ask you if you want to continue with the install, click yes, and then the installer should start copying files, you'll get an error on the last one, just ignore.

Thanks for the details, I'll have a go. Just to confirm this is OK for non-retail discrete GPU also?

Should be fine on your machine, as long as it isn't a 330m technically you can install this driver. It's a universal driver so I don't know why Apple restricts it just to the mac pro cards.

You'll see improvements in some games, and others you won't. It helped in WoW and ESO, but I didn't see one in 7 Days to Die (Thats more of a indie game though).

Running it on my 750m no issues whatsoever ;)

Granted, I’m not playing on the OS X side of my MBP, I’m still going to try and do some optimization to see if I can get ESO to run better on it. It lags when it starts getting hot.

I got my first real grouping experience yesterday running two of the three first set of 4 man dungeons. I think a 5th man option would work nicely for these too. My very first time in I tried tanking, and tanking the first 4 man at the lowest possible level with crap gear is asking for a disaster, as a healer with decent gear and skilled correctly, I do a pretty good job of keeping everyone alive as long as the tank isn’t taking a huge beating. I’ve also collected a lot more skyshards this time around and have a higher overall allocation of skill points. Healing isn’t an easy job right now, but that’s the fun part. It’s challenging and not just a walk in the park like other MMOs. Unlike Rift, which I played last, a tank could run in, grab all the agro, and just sit there getting beat on while the healer kept the tank topped off and healed any additional damage or status effects done to the DPS in the party. In ESO, everyone takes damage and even though in the chaos there doesn’t seem like there’s a great deal of agro management, there is. The other thing I like is that bosses seem like bosses. By this I mean that they’re not always the easiest to kill and you have to watch yourself of you may end up dead fast. My first dungeon experience was chaotic, but fun. I can’t wait to get farther in to the game.

Great.

The only last question I have was about downgrading. Is there a way to uninstall this install? Or would it require a fresh install is my only concern to actually do this.
