These two are pretty much done when it comes to handhelds.

Doesn't that feed into the mentality that the iPad is just a toy?
Not surprised, there hasn't really been a new console in a while. And growth from 0% to anything is near infinite - pretty hard to beat

I fail to see how the iPad compares to X-Box with Kinect! How does one play Call of Duty on an iPad?
The point is, it's there for the iPad, and it's making a lot of money. And there are *a lot* of satisfied iPad gamers. THAT is what the competition finds so worrying. And they're right to. The iPad is hijacking the videogame industry. And folks like EA seem to like it a lot.
The iPad is only a year and a few months old. Yet look at where it is already. We can even play our iPad games on HDTVs, and do it via AirPlay with iOS 5.

On a related note, what I don't understand is how all these different shoe companies stay in business. I mean, you have running shoes, dress shoes, casual shoes, sandals, cowboy boots, work boots, high heels, flats, mules, clogs... the list is endless. It just boggles my mind that someone can't make one single type of shoe that fits all of these needs. I mean, it's almost like each different type of shoe fills a niche and that just because someone owns a pair of running shoes that doesn't mean that's the only type of shoe they want to wear. Could that be true though? Could someone really want to own a pair of running shoes and a pair of dress shoes?
No, that's impossible. There is most certainly a solution for a single type of footwear that appeals to all people and fits all situations. No one has just figured out how to make it yet.

Yeah, I'm gonna chalk it up to Apple. I'd be silly not to, given what we're seeing now, and what we've been seeing for the past few years. Nintendo and these other victims are absolutely, positively loathe to blame it on Apple. They'll use every excuse - the economy, the value of the Yen, "market reset" - all sorts of baloney, when in fact an Apple product is actually invading and hijacking their usual competitive space.
You don't blame the REAL culprit (Apple.) Why? Because that's essentially a death sentence, publicly declared.
Anyone who buys Call of Duty on iPad expecting the same experience they have become accustomed to on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or PC is going to be sorely disappointed.
People, including you, say Apple's offering is all about the experience. The experience of playing most games on iPad is poor and unless they offer a radical redesign of the hardware, that isn't going to change any time soon.
Why not? The point of this thread is apparently to illustrate how mobile devices will inevitably replace console and computer gaming.Really you are going to compare a full blown console or computer based game to a mobile device??
