I just received a "New" Sony Camcorder today, bought from Electronic king inc, 5 days late and covered with scratches & a big thumbprint on the lens.

The pics attached show the scratches & thumbprint. Taken with a Sony A350 and LED ring lite bought successfully on Ebay

I don't know what's your problem, of course it's a US machine, but he will provide you European plug if you ask.

Did you see the last 100 feedbacks he received from European buyers? They are all thrilled, I still think this is more than legit, but I feel you, i know how easy it is to fret on these eBay transactions.

FYI my laptop has been sent and I am tracking it, should receive it tomorrow or Friday.

UK keyboard ?

i got my late 2009 macbook from them back in april 2010. registered with apple no issues and had full warranty intact as well.

I have never had an issue with the computer.

I guess everyone's mileage will vary..

I bought my Retina MacBook Pro for £1400 from them, and it has be fine. It's a US machine, but that is fine for me.

Beware of electronic king

To everyone wondering about these clowns, they rely on a number of successful deals to scam a whole lot of other individuals. In fact, there are recurring, verifiable reports of them offering buyers discounts and expedited shipping in exchange for positive reviews. I know this because when the deal started to go awry (late delivery, unanswered mails etc.) I became increasingly concerned.

To spare you the weeks of back and forth trauma I endured, I will keep the account simple: I bought a 2012 17" MBP 2.5GHz and specifically requested the Anti-Glare screen - because this was how it was advertised on eBay. Unsurprisingly (having read other buyers' accounts), the machine that arrived was a 2.3GHz MBP with a GLOSSY display instead. And when I finally managed to contact the elusive Sam about this, he apologised profusely (as I knew was his standard m.o.) and offered to give me a discount if I kept the Mac.

Seriously annoyed, I told him there was no way on earth this was acceptable and that I wanted a full refund. Days of unreturned emails eventually compelled me to do some detective work (actually I providentially happened to be at UPS HQ where I got the sender's physical landline number). And with this number in hand, plus a conversation with a terribly polite gent who happens to be the primary tenant of those premises, Sam agreed to a full refund if I paid for the return shipping. It took another feisty email to get him to waive this as well and a few days later, my money had been returned in full. But what an exhausting process. True...I ended up paying more at the end, by buying from Jigsaw 24, but it was well worth it - knowing the machine I bought was 100% legit and under warranty.

Same thing here

Hi,

just stay away from these fraudsters.
Bought a 15,4 MBP there two weeks ago.
The entire pre-sales went just fine, I contacted the eBay SHop to check several things with them. I've been assured that everything is fine and legit.
So I bought the MBP and the mess started right away.
The auction stated things like:
> Delivery within 2 days
> Shipping from Germany
> German Keyboard
> Can be used in Germany
ans so on.
The truth was
> I was lied at about the shipping for four days, until I opened up a PayPal dispute
> The MBP came from London UK
> It looks like the keyboard setup is British (i guess )
> I had to buy an adapter for 14EUROS so I could plug it into our regular German power sockets
...
The entire communication after the actual purchase is horrible, no reactions for days, promises to add an additional year of warranty, additional discounts and so on, nothing has been fulfilled till now!
I am issuing some major disputes with eBay and PayPal since I know some people at their fraud departments.
So if someone wants to join, pass me a short sum up of your story, the current status and your transaction details so they can verify everything.
I can't promise anything, but at least we can give these bastards a hard time....

They have 98+% positive feedbacks and over 30.000 feedbacks. eBay will not move a finger against sellers like this who bring in $$$ for PayPal/eBay.

I don't know why people trust eBay/PayPal. There are plenty of scammers who know how to game the system. Buy via eBay at your own risk.

Theoretically, eBay should allow you to send it back and PayPal should refund your money, but often the sellers who sell a lot get special treatment and eBay sides with the seller because the seller brings in a lot of money to eBay.

Sorry to hear you got screwed. Now you know why I don't even consider buying via eBay. (I refer to it as Scambay)

I just need to say that a couple of years ago I bought a computer from them and it was all in all an amazing deal. I saved over £700 on a maxxed out 17'' MBP. I knew the model was US, and I was fine with it.

I wouldn't do it again though. Obviously things can go very wrong with this guy.

Apologies for resurrecting an oldish thread but I came across this as I was searching for any posts relating to electronic king inc and UK macbook purchases. Just to throw my 2 pence into the mix - I bought from them a fully loaded macbook pro, 2.6GHz, 16G RAM, 1TB SSD etc, for £2099 all in. Arrived next day in perfect condition, retail packaged etc.

Around £700 cheaper than via Apple store. I'm happy with it being a US keyboard (ergonomically better layout in my opinion) and no doubt a grey market import. Just need to add on some Applecare (£199 from electronic king, though will shop around) and I'm so far a happy chappy :).

I appreciate why this can be an anxious purchasing route for some people, but if you take a deep breath there are some serious savings to be had.

mecmac

I bought a Mac Pro 386LL/A (new, not used or re-furb.) on 7/6/2013 which turned into an A1297 MD311LL/A with 4Gb extra RAM on arrival. Accepted a £250 refund plus extra year on warranty and kept unit. Today I took the power supply to Apple istore for replacement under warranty (it has died), and was told that Apple have this laptop on their database as having been sold in July 2012, so no warranty.
Have decided to fork out £60 odd for a new 85W Magsafe Power Supply to save the aggro. of trying to get blood from the Electronic King stone.:(

I think that european prices are much higher than american ones.
So, it is very attractive for european citizens to buy easily with the lower american prices.

I would like to see more comments from buyers.

Just received one today.
Ordered from the UK.
Had a slight issue in that I ordered the early 2013 2.7/512/16 and got the late 2013 2.3/512/16 which was actually not a problem for me and actually even better if anything. Dropped them a message and they asked if I was happy with it etc. Sure they would of been willing to sort it out if need be but I presume despite the lower processor its actually a better machine.
Ordered wednesday night, shipped friday and delivered today which was tuesday as monday was a bank holiday. Say 2 working days from order which is very reasonable. Item was shipped from London via Parceforce.

Paid £1480 which by my maths is a saving on UK prices of about £700 give or take. They were game for a haggle as the machine was listed as £1599 with offers, I went in at £1300 and we ended at £1480.
This thing is fast wow.
Warranty is pretty much a full year and all seems fine in that area.

Its clear they are using a loophole somewhere which is fine by me, I got a great deal so i'm more than happy.

Quasi at best

What you're dealing with here is a grey market vendor. He is taking product from markets that have different tax structures and selling them in markets where he makes money off the difference. He is also likely taking used products from markets where the demand is not high and selling them in markets where the demand is high, banking on the reticence of buyers to make a big fuss when the product is not exactly as ordered.

If you get what you wanted or something slightly better, you will likely leave a good rating. If you don't, your rating will be swallowed up by the good ratings.

Is this a legitimate business? Legitimate in the world of eBay and online, but not bricks and mortar store world.

Should you do business with them? You take your chances. If it is worth avoiding VAT and taking the risk of the taxman coming after you, unlikely if the product is used, but more likely it is not, then you might get a good deal. On the other hand, you might end up owing the taxman, and Electronic King will not bail you out.

I dont know, they dont have a great deal of bad feedback in comparison to good so if that is how they do it there is low rate of failures.
An item listed for sale as being located in the Uk, purchased fair and square on what is probably the biggest marketplace in the world. I really dont see what grounds the taxman would have to come after the buyer.
Remember the item was shipped from within the Uk so any tax evasion that may or may not taken part will of been nothing to do with the buyer.
I very much doubt they could get away with this if they were outright breaking the law, I think they are more likely imported as factory samples etc in which case they would be of a lot less value and I imagine not taxable.
We can speculate all we like but they came good for me.

Electronic King Inc are fraudsters

Wish I had found this forum thread before ever deciding to spend money with these con artists. Avoid Electronic King. Their 'warranty' promise is fraudulent. An iPhone 5 purchased from them simply died after 8 months, for no reason I could fathom. They initially promised to cover the cost of Apple UK repairing it. Maybe they figured it would be a small cost, who knows. But then Apple UK charged £209 for a total swap/replacement as they said the thing was completely unrepairable. And Electronic King? Well, they went dark after that. I'm still chasing them, 4 months on, and they have never ever responded. They are deceitful liars, avoid them like the plague and definitely DO NO buy anything from them, their after-sales service/warranty is non-existent and when it goes wrong, you will be picking up the tab.

AVOID Electronic King!

I bought an iPad from Electronic King on eBay. Item was received after a 2 day delay. Paid for a new one but got a used and scratched one. Wanted to give it back and get a refund but they offered compensation and everything was agreed through eBay messages. After a week of agreement, didn't receive a penny. The communication stopped and the seller did not respond to my eBay messages. Contacted eBay and escalated to them. It took more than a month to get full refund. Their strategy seems to be to hold on to your cash for as long as possible.

They will readily agree to anything and everything as compensation but you will not see any action.

eBay CANNOT enforce the agreements you make with the seller even though you have proof of their agreement in eBay message!

Since this was a Xmas gift, I gave it away AFTER the seller agreed for compensation. But unfortunately, I had to go and get the iPad back so I could return it to get a full refund.

This seller is a timewaster, dodgy and untrustworthy.

Communication is extremely slow and does not answer your concerns.

Avoid at all costs. Totally not worth anything!

I ordered a Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 over 2 weeks ago from this vendor. It has been sitting with a "shipping label created" since March 23rd for 2 day priority shipping out of Jacksonville FL. I am STILL waiting on my purchase and it is still sitting. I have emailed this company and have not gotten a response....for 3 days. If I do not hear from them or receive my purchase within the next few days I will be reporting them to the BBB.

Hi everyone!
It's been more than 6 month since I bought my macbook pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) from that Electronic King.
Before buying I read all these messages and was quite worried.
Anyway. I have only the best experience with that seller.
Very fast shipping (from UK to Netherlands). Product was new, sealed. Model was correct. Communication was swift.

Hi forum,

On 2016 January 16 I bought a laptop from this dealer via eBay. The laptop is a Macbook Pro 2.5GHz 15.4" MJLT2 i7 with 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Mid-2015 Model. At first, after reading a couple posts on this forum and reading some feedback on eBay, I was a bit suspicious. Nevertheless I gave it a try and bought the laptop after having a bit of chatting with the dealer about warranty and details like that (I know the info is there to read, I just wanted a confirmation).

Instantly after payment (which was done via Paypal) the dealer asked if I wanted it shipped via priority service (1-3 business days) by Fedex for a reasonable price. We agreed and I was happy and excited about it.

Long story short - it didn't arrive on time. It wasn't the fault of Fedex. Dealer simply didn't ship it for quite a while. I guess thats how they work - ships the laptop to themselves (UK) from somewhere (probably US, hence the price and the AC plug). They just don't want to tell you.

Anyway, after 10 long days of waiting it came nicely and as described. Sealed, new, correct model and with an adaptor for a standard European AC plug (which I didn't request nor paid for it). I will add a couple photos which speak for themselves.

All in all I am happy with the service. I would've liked a bit clearer communications but the price and the condition of the item just wins over it. It's well worth waiting, at least for me.

I am not sure how this seller will handle the EU shipment from UK to the rest of Europe,
after the Brexit process...
I mean, the most essential thing, is to keep it's low prices for all european customers, as it did until today, using UK as his basement.

AVOID !!! He is professional thief!
Anybody whit similar experience please contact me for police report support!
Thank you.

Is this seller, still on business on ebay? Especially European customers, saved fortunes from his existence.
