It's weird - you can't actually get the keyboard option in email (at least I don't have it), but you can copy and paste icons from SMS to email... although when you send them to an email account not being viewed from an iPhone they're obviously broken.

That's interesting. I can get my emoji keyboard up in email.

You need to restart your phone.

I got it to work, but whats the point of emoji?? Nobody can see the images if I send them

Unfortunately, it only works with other iPhone users (or Japanese mobile phone users, natch). I'm not sure why US carriers don't adopt something like these, even as an optional thing. It's very cool.

is there other keyboards like emoji out there that we can access using a similar manner???

Maybe one LIKE the chinese hand writing ones except where it sends what you draw instead of correcting??

Anyone else have a missing buttons in the bottom right and bottom left of the emoji keyboard?

sooooooooooooo glad i looked this up. when i updated to 3.0 i was worried the emoji on my phone was gone forever.

works perfectly.

For those that want EMOJI icons but don't want to fork out $.99, boy do I have the cure for that. Some of you probably already know about this, but the original easter egg digits did not work on my fw 3.0 b2. However, the following digits DO WORK!

Make sure you do this now so you will have it. Once you do, back up your phone and whenever you restore from backup, you will forever have emoji.

On your phone, search for the SPELL NUMBER app. It is FREE. Put in this series of digits:

91929394.59

CLOSE THE APP - you can't hit return or anything else after you put in the digits and the app "spells" it out for ya. Go to your settings/general/international/keyboard -> under JAPANESE, you should see enable emoji toggle.

I restored my 3.0 beta 2 as a NEW iPhone because my youtube doesn't work when I use my 2.2.1 restore backup. I lost my emoji from my previous JB. Now it works again!

Give it a shot before they upgrade the spell number app!!

Do you search within the App Store or on the iPhone using Spotlight?

There is a way to send emoji to regular PC mail or webmail or non-japanese smart phones.

Emoji Mailer.

This converts the emoji to graphics and allows them to be sent to normal email addresses.

Or save to clipboard and post into other apps or websites that support in-line graphics.

There is also the option to convert to BBCode so you can post the emoji on forums like this and have them show up correctly and not black boxes.
