Its not big deal for me anymore, I could wait two more days. But I feel you, my first iPhone I dont get on day one. Feel weird just looking on social media everyone posting their phones. lol

It really is a matter of Perspective...

IMO The only good reason to feel sad about this is if you needed the iPhone every year on the exact same day to avert some life threatening condition, and that you (or a loved one) would literally die today just because you couldn't get it.

Otherwise, trust me, there is life outside having the lastest iPhone. Go to a nice park and a long hike, hang out with friends etc. You'll feel much better when your attention is focused elsewhere.

I will say the new black looks great, but again, its a nice feature, though I seriously question how it will hold up on day to day usage.

I'm not in the market for one, I'm really happy with my SE, but with that said, my wife needs a new phone, we'll see about it getting the 7 in a month or so. She doesn't seem to be in a hurry

This is my first launch day since 2011 without a new iPhone. I did get an iPhone 4 later that summer, but not on launch. However, mine's simply because I'm now a heathen with regards to my phone. Still interested in everyone's thoughts on the 7, though, and I'll probably head to the Apple Store today to see them in person.

After 9 years of successfully getting the new iPhone on launch day whether through a pre-order or camping out over night... It's a sad day.

My efforts started last night at the Apple store, where managers turned us away for IUP's that got all the 7+'s... then at the AT&T flagship store which got every 7+ except the blacks.

My plan is to put the models in my cart and check "in-store" reservations first thing tomorrow morning.
This is my first iPhone I haven't gotten on launch day since the 4s. I am one of those IUP members who hasn't received a reservation email from Apple....

I think it's a good idea to cut down on the scalpers, resellers, etc. It's giving preference to those with a carrier account and actual iPhone users. It makes sense for Apple and their customers. Smart move by Apple.

A day that will live in infamy, OP!

Many of you are inspiring to be the Cal Ripken Jr. of launch day iPhones. The A.C. Green. What a goal in life! What an accomplishment! Future generations shall feel inspired! You're future offspring will be like saying, "Daddy, I'm so proud of you getting every launch day iPhone ever!" Just be grateful you wake up everyday. Do you really want to reach the age of 80 and say you missed on your launch day iPhone after 40-60 consecutive years?

Nobody cares or remembers if you achieve any of this! Just like nobody cares if you own a mint iPhone except the next owner. Nobody cares if you're showing off a new design that everyone else has. Nobody cares if you got it first. Nobody cares if you plan to make your home into an iPhone museum. Get out more. Find a girlfriend or ANY friend to occupy your time and personally interact with them. I hope by the time I reach my 50's, Magic Leap has already taken over. Or phones become Transformer robots...

I'm in the same boat. It is strange the phone with the least reason to upgrade from the previous is the one that is hardest to get.

But as sad as it is, if it means the losers who waited in line, got turned away cold, it was worth it.

I feel your pain, I have had everyone since the original on launch day. I used to always find those at&t that no one new about and hop in line. After 10 min I would have a phone. After the 5 I got tired of those at&t reps raping my phone just to activate it. I don't want their nasty little paws all over my phone so started preordering from apple. I kind of hate apple right now, if I didn't love my phone I would just cancel the preorder but I will be damned if I'm stuck using an android or windows phone. Now I got to wait 2 weeks while everyone else plays with their phone.

Apparently you care. An awful lot, as it seems.

Everyone gets excited about stuff. It's ok to get excited about stuff. And, it's ok to get disappointed if the thing you were excited about fails to manifest.

Sitting around denigrating people that are sharing their experience comes across as petty and self-righteous. Find something more constructive to do with your time than engage in belittling and name calling.

(ps. I'm not going to find a girlfriend. My wife would be pretty upset, I'd guess, especially since we just recently celebrated our 25th anniversary. On a cruise. With friends and family. Your gross misgeneralizations are also telling.)

Not a smart move by Apple. I am an actual iPhone user, but choose to make a frugal decision in this free market society in which we live, thus I am on a no contract plan with cricket and need to buy the iPhone at full retail price, no payment plan. Because I am not on one of the big four carriers I am punished and am unable to pre-order an iPhone. I found out that the T-Mobile preorder was the only one that didn't require account information to order, but by that time it was a few hours into the preorder process and shipping times were into October. I decide to try my luck on launch day only for them to reveal they won't have any Plus models for walkins.

Yes, it's frustrating that I can't get it on launch day, but in the end I'll get it when I get it, and life will move on.
