Exactly.Why be sad?
I mean, its only a cell phone, and the while it has some minor features, I'd not say its an earth shattering, must have upgrade - at least I don't think so.

This is my first iPhone I haven't gotten on launch day since the 4s. I am one of those IUP members who hasn't received a reservation email from Apple....After 9 years of successfully getting the new iPhone on launch day whether through a pre-order or camping out over night... It's a sad day.
My efforts started last night at the Apple store, where managers turned us away for IUP's that got all the 7+'s... then at the AT&T flagship store which got every 7+ except the blacks.
My plan is to put the models in my cart and check "in-store" reservations first thing tomorrow morning.

A launch day should not involve only getting one if you get up in the middle of the night to order online.
A day that will live in infamy, OP!
Many of you are inspiring to be the Cal Ripken Jr. of launch day iPhones. The A.C. Green. What a goal in life! What an accomplishment! Future generations shall feel inspired! You're future offspring will be like saying, "Daddy, I'm so proud of you getting every launch day iPhone ever!" Just be grateful you wake up everyday. Do you really want to reach the age of 80 and say you missed on your launch day iPhone after 40-60 consecutive years?
Nobody cares or remembers if you achieve any of this! Just like nobody cares if you own a mint iPhone except the next owner. Nobody cares if you're showing off a new design that everyone else has. Nobody cares if you got it first. Nobody cares if you plan to make your home into an iPhone museum. Get out more. Find a girlfriend or ANY friend to occupy your time and personally interact with them. I hope by the time I reach my 50's, Magic Leap has already taken over. Or phones become Transformer robots...
Phone zombies.. SMH
Not a smart move by Apple. I am an actual iPhone user, but choose to make a frugal decision in this free market society in which we live, thus I am on a no contract plan with cricket and need to buy the iPhone at full retail price, no payment plan. Because I am not on one of the big four carriers I am punished and am unable to pre-order an iPhone. I found out that the T-Mobile preorder was the only one that didn't require account information to order, but by that time it was a few hours into the preorder process and shipping times were into October. I decide to try my luck on launch day only for them to reveal they won't have any Plus models for walkins.I think it's a good idea to cut down on the scalpers, resellers, etc. It's giving preference to those with a carrier account and actual iPhone users. It makes sense for Apple and their customers. Smart move by Apple.
