That was a corporate eSIM? Why would they tell you to go to a T-mobile store, rather than talking to your company's administrator?

Edit: This post says it worked with a corporate T-mobile pSIM.

Corporate T-Mobile physical sim. If I have to call my company every time I want to change phones then I will wait this out, not enough of an upgrade to deal with the inconvenience. Hopefully in a year there will be an easier way.

I just bought an iPhone 14PM, to replace my old 13PM. I have a corporate postpaid US AT&T mobile plan with a physical SIM card on the old phone. I know I can convert the pSIM to an eSIM, and with iOS 16 on both phones I should be able to transfer that eSIM to the new one.

Question is, has anyone actually tried this, does it actually work with a corporate plan? I would love to not have to deal with my company's procurement people if I can avoid it.
I just went to pick up my iPhone 14 Pro. My 13 pro max had my personal eSim and physical corporate Sim. Both were Verizon. I sat in the store and waited to see if it would carry over before leaving so I could trade in my old phone and keep the physical sim if it did t work. My IT guy in office said it probably wouldn’t work but I have an old iPhone 8 from work I could dump it into if needed. To my surprise, it transferred over into an eSim without issue. It said it connected to the carrier but I didn’t need to enter anything (and I didn’t have credentials to do so anyway). Worked like a charm, hopefully same for you!

Edit: I also did not have the ability to convert the physical to Esim on my 13 pro max, so was surprised. If yours won’t let you convert, it still shouldn’t be an issue, but every company is different in how they manage.

I had a physical sim from my employer and it transferred over to the esim on AT&T with no hassle. I was surprised, as was the IT department—who thought they would need information from the phone to work.

I was gonna do the same but my company inhibited the transfer to eSIM. I don’t know why. They can just stop paying the bill.

Thanks! My company uses AT&T also, so that's a good sign.

My old 13PM does have the ability to convert to an eSIM, although I haven't done it. Weird that First Post's didn't.

Thanks Shaown! Things are looking good for when my phone finally arrives next month.

I have a Business Account on T-Mobile with about a dozen lines. My line with a pSIM failed to transfer to eSIM (iPhone PM 13 to PM 14). I control the account, so I called T-Mobile and they did the transfer but took about 45 minutes between hold and when the Philippine based agent succeeded with the transfer. Very efficient and sharp agent who quickly escalated EID not being recognized on their system and resolved it. Hopefully next time around eSIM to eSIM will work. I considered waiting to get a Hong Kong model with two SIM slots, but did not want to wait. I am keeping my 13 Pro as a backup travel phone.

Mine went smoothly - corporate psim to personal esim.
No issues - got upgraded from 4G to 5G.
Didn't need to contact my IT dept.
And they haven't asked for the old phone back...
