Well, since I've started drinking espresso again and I'm acquiring the taste for it, I started adding just a touch of almond milk to it to help take the bite of bitterness out of it. Then this morning as I was doing that I thought of getting an espresso spoon for stirring. I looked around on Amazon, Whole Latte Love and eBay briefly and nothing really stood out to me in terms of design and appearance and I didn't want just a plain run-of-the-mill spoon either. Then I thought of Le Cresuet and looked to see what they might have. I ended up ordering, in the flame color, a set of two espresso cups with saucers and a teaspoon, which will match my French Press and mug.

Oooh, nice choice!

I bought myself a Le Cresuet coffee mug in the same red off Amazon. It dropped from £14 to £11. Also, recent visits to TK Max, one in St Helens and one in Stratford upon Avon I've seen Le Cresuet cups, the mug and the espresso cups for sale. I managed to buy an espresso cup in red but both times in both stores the mugs have been blue and cream. If you ever go to a TK Max it's worth keeping an eye out for them.

I've enjoyed a nice cup of Intelligentsia in French Press this morning as well as a double espresso of the Dessert Oasis beans.

I'm really starting to nail down the tamp pressure, weight of ground beans and extraction time which leads to a better tasting cup. Previously I struggled with the tamp and extraction times a lot and would often under extract.

Weekly cleaning of the Gaggia and Rancilio are all finished too and ready for the next shot.

Very impressive.

I am currently drinking a pot (Le Creuset) of French Press coffee (Ethiopian), and the OE Lido grinder was put through its paces, too. Very tasty.

Compares favorable to it, but I like Ethiopian better.

Ah, excellent.

Yes, I think I would find myself in agreement with you on that.

However, I must - sometime - try a blend of one third - maybe one quarter Rwandan - to two thirds, three quarters Ethiopian, and, see how that works.

Or, better still, I might try one third Rwandan, and two different blends of Ethiopian for the remaining two thirds to make a blend, and see how that works.

I think I see a new career in your future. Coffee blending may not be very financially remunerative, but it's clear that you have a knack. o_O

:D

Good morning, all.

I hope you are all enjoying your day, whatever time it is, and also enjoying a good cup of coffee. I have just finished my first morning cup… some Intelligentsia El Diablo blend made by French press. It is still a wonderful treat for me to be able to have an excellent cup of coffee to start my day.

I am now energized (or wired, as the case may be) to soon be ready for a long, if exhausting, exercise walk.

I wish you all an enjoyable, productive, and coffee filled day.:D

Ah, it is time for me to make some coffee, too. Ethiopian, naturally.

Unfortunately, these days, I stop by the news first, and get delayed and distracted.

Anyway, @Shrink, glad you enjoyed your coffee.

Good morning all. I'm sitting down right now to a wonderful cup of the Colombian espresso to start my day. I was able to sleep in until 5:45 am which is a rarity for me. Although, I went to bed far later than usual too, 10:30 pm after watching the season finale of Game of Thrones. It also helped to sleep in by locking myself in the bedroom and the cats out.

The cats were exiled from the bedroom? These days, I have to remind myself that it is 'cats', not 'cat'. Puma and Cassini. (Though I have a hankering still, for Jean-Luc...)

Enjoy your coffee.

I am currently sipping a mug of Ethiopian Aramo coffee, with clean, bright notes and a nicely balanced flavour.

Yes, its been the only way I can get some decent sleep at night. Puma isn't the problem, but you can imagine the energetic furball Cassini causing the problem. I left my door open Friday night and at 2:30 am Cassini decided to curl up under my chin as I lay on my side and paw at, rub up against my face and he quite literally attempted to insert himself into my nostrils! It was an interesting way to wake up.

So I'll have to keep the door closed at night for a while until he gets a little older and less rambunctious before I leave the door open at night.

I only had one espresso this morning and now that I'm at work, I want another one.

That is actually quite funny.

The day will come when he will let you sleep, only wakening you up - with a tap of the paw - when he needs to be let out (or so friends with cats tell me).

Well, the solution is to buy one of those nifty Nespresso or Keurig machines, and a bunch of flavored, stale, pre-ground pods so that you can have some wonderful espresso at work.

Um, no. I think that we are all pretty much in agreement on this.

Aah, well, just a thought.

A bad thought...but I'm just a confused old man.

No, this is not credible, not on the subject of coffee and espresso: Thus, I'll buy that you are a teasing gentleman freighted with the experiences life has to offer, and marked by a pleasing maturity.

Umm yeah, no. I'll gladly suffer until this afternoon when I arrive home rather than put myself through such torment.

As I did last Friday - deciding that Starbucks was preferable to coffee deprivation.

However, there is a case to be made for depositing a reasonably inexpensive French press and a jar of (real) coffee in an office environment; no need for a kettle, as, in my experience, almost every office comes equipped with a kettle.

OK... This is perfect.

I'm sure you all know how expensive it is to use those wonderful stale coffee pods. I mean, just getting one cup of weak, pale, see-through stale coffee from a pod is such a waste of money. Of course, I'm not addressing those who throw money out the window buying those gourmet beans (especially Ethiopian!).

I'm always on the lookout for ways to improve the coffee experience for you enthusiasts and to save money is just an extra added bonus.

So I introduce, to all of you, this is amazing Kickstarter project so that you can pledge a bunch of money so they can produce this incredible device which is a testament to frugality.

So here it is!

Please, don't rush to thank me all at once.

I live to serve...

(Ain't you glad I'm back. :p)

That is so amazing! I'm going to pledge at least two full pay checks to this project so that the whole world might enjoy the splendid pleasure of double the stale, months old coffee and for half the cost!

What a bargain!
