Sounds decadent and delicious, enjoy.

Yes, it is - organic, full fat milk is gorgeous, whether consumed by itself, (complete with white moustache), as warmed milk, with scrambled eggs, (eggs also organic & free range), and with either coffee or as a key ingredient in hot chocolate.

Quite lovely, and consumed (and enjoyed) all too soon.

Seems I missed a rather interesting post exchange here yesterday. On to topic, I've had 1 espresso and 2 pressed mugs with cream earlier between the hours of 7 and 12. Still feeling awful and thus didn't dare go to work. I spotted some ginger root in the refrigerator last night. I'll peel it and grind it up this evening for some tea. Maybe with some honey if I can stomach the taste.

I did have the Tanzanian in the mug with some sugar. It's even tastier with just a little bit of sugar.

Yes! You see what us urban folk owe to our farmers and other country-folk, those that care to produce the sustenance we enjoy with loving attention to proper methods. Of course, I included those who gorw our coffee - and it's no joke what a a difference a good bunch of beans can do.

I made two too, but drank them both myself. Heh.

Back from the city; organic milk purchased, the bank visited, - plus a flying visit to my cheesemonger, (still no Gorgonzola, alas) and my favourite coffee shop visited - alas, there is little Ethiopian coffee to be had, but a nice Kenyan did wink at me.

I shall return tomorrow, weather permitting, and investigate further, as nobody was able to give me an informed opinion on it.

Nevertheless, in truth, I am more than sufficiently well supplied with Ethiopian coffee at the moment.

One of the greatest meals ever: thick, crunchy bread toasted just right, bit of fresh butter, topped with a perfectly cooked poached egg....salt and pepper...and a mug o joe. That's nirvana right there.

Oh, @Shrink would have a lot of fun analyzing that statement....probably put you on medication too.

As long as the medication is a (n espresso) shot...

Oh, a perfectly poached egg - now, agreed, that is nirvana. I love poached eggs........especially the organic, free range ones.

As long as the medication is a (n espresso) shot...

There are few things better for one's peace of mind, and the cultivation of a generally equable disposition than to be greeted by a first rate espresso first thing in the morning.....preferably made by someone else...

Drinking a lovely cup of "Phoka Co-op" from Malawi made in a French press with a dash of whole milk. It says on the packet, "The Phoka hills run along the border of Tanzania with an altitude between 1300 and 2500 metres. The area produces a full bodied coffee due to the continued rainfall and has a subtle sweet aroma with caramel and brown sugar notes" To me it is a nice, smooth "easy going" coffee. Lovely.

Ah, I have never had Tanzanian coffee; excellent. I have had coffee from Rwanda, and some excellent coffees from Kenya, in addition to the Ethiopian coffees that I normally love.

How does it compare with Kenyan?

I may be wrong but I'm sure the guy from Crosby Coffee where I bought it from, said it was comparable with Ethiopian coffee. Might be worth you trying some out?

Thank you - that is most interesting.

I preferred Kenyan to Rwandan, but would be intrigued to see what the Tanzanian is like.

It occurs to me that it could blend well - as the Kenyan coffees do - with Ethiopian coffees.

I hate cleaning and any sort of housework but one thing I don't mind is cleaning my espresso machine. I let it run through its cleaning cycle while I wash and clean all the other bits, portafilter, drip tray, steam arm etc and then dry everything off, all the while I have Classic FM on in the background. All done and very satisfying. And then what? A cup of coffee? No. A nice cup of Yorkshire tea and my book. Ooh, I do like my Saturday afternoon routine!

Err, it is Malawian coffee. ;)

I just saw the words which described hills that "run along the Tanzanian border". Oooops. Mea culpa.

I see. Coffee from Malawi?

Nobody believes me when I say that my brain really doesn't work before I have had a cup of coffee.

Somehow, I never even saw - or registered - the word "Malawi" (though I do recall reading - and being informed - that it has been an unusually badly run country by the dismal standards of African governance); my mind only spotted Tanzania, and wondered how close to Kenyan that might be on taste criteria.

Oh, I believe!

Ah, bless you.

Work colleagues tend not to - sometimes, form their befuddled expressions, it is clear that they think I am indulging in a spot of hyperbole, rather than merely informing them of a depressing truth.

I'm one of those who just doesn't "get" mornings. I can cope with them but I don't "get" them, still less am I the proverbial "bright eyed and bushy tailed" sort.

Now, as for a round of midnight analyses........
