Having a lovely mug of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe from Crosby Coffee, brewed with a Hario V60 Dripper with a dash of organic whole milk (I sound like @Scepticalscribe!) Also, a few squares of Green and Black's 60% Organic Mint dark chocolate. Yummy!

Yes, I have to wonder whether - somehow or other and quite inexplicably - you are actually channelling me.

But, it is rather lovely, is it not - a good Ethiopian coffee served up with a dash of organic whole milk?

Trying something new from my roaster. Smoked coffee. Coffee roasted over a wood fire (applewood) allowing the beans to absorb the smoke. I had a cup this morning and couldn't make much of it. Will have another cup later today and make up my mind in a few days. It does have a wonderful aroma. Not overpowering and not weak.

Penta-Spresso rapid chilled in stainless steel cup, full fat milk, generous pour of organic cream, simple syrup laced with Tahitian vanilla. Blended with some ice in our new Vitamix and a splash of dark rum. Brilliant!

Personal oops moment of the day. I found a pair of reading glasses I thought I'd lost somewhere on my property but it appears I left them in our deep freezer between two large slabs of meat. $50 saved.

I tend to keep a pair of reading glasses in my RX stashed all around the house. I still manage to lose some of them each year. Naughty buggers.

Chamomile tea flavored with jasmine flower buds, and then off to bed.

On the smoked coffee: Worth a try if you can get your hands on the stuff.

@Scepticalscribe. I'm in London next week to see my sister and whilst there would love to visit that lovely coffee shop you've mentioned. Will you let me know where it is? Thanks.

In London, I tend to buy stuff from The Ethiopian Coffee Company, and have always found them excellent. They are in Islington, and are very easy to deal with - I have always found the staff pleasant and helpful.

I have had a heavy head cold for a few days, and thus, inexplicably, do not much feel like coffee.

Instead, I have been drinking tea; I know from experience that once I feel the desire to drink coffee again, that I am well on the road to recovery.

Still sipping tea. And, sad to relate, glad of it.

And longing for the day when my nasty - and heavy - cold (cough, etc, though the sore throat is thankfully gone) has receded sufficiently for me to be able to appreciate, long for, and savour Ethiopian coffee again.

Well best wishes for a speedy recovery. I am currently dealing with my seasonal hayfever though it is not as bad as years past.

Friends and family know that I am pretty much under the weather when I am unable - or do not simply wish to - drink coffee.

Now, normally, - as the denizens of this thread well know - I really do love my coffee, but, when you see me reaching for tea for several days in a row, you know that I am not entirely myself.

Good luck with your own hay fever.

Just back from my trip to London. Unfortunately I didn't get to visit any coffee shops and have had to "survive" on Starbucks, Costa and Cafe Nero (Urgh!) What I've come to realise is that my own coffee that I make in my own home is superior to all of theirs, something I never thought I'd be able to achieve. The nicest and most decent cup I had was not from any of the above but from Pret a Manger just off Regent's Street which was very nice.

Tea, of course. That should have been inebriate, not imbibe. Yeesh. This sweltering heat isn't doing much for my thinking.

Ah, yes.

Thanks for your clarification; I hadn't understood what you were getting at in your original post.

Well, I hope you enjoy your tea.
Yes, thank you, I will. Any remaining tea will be poured and left aside. Then shaken with ice and gin tonight. Plenty of ice. Wedge of lime from the garden. Good stuff.

Enjoy that, too.

Now, I will be honest and say I have never heard of the idea of tea with ice, gin and a slice of lime; intriguing. Do you recommend this?
