It was delicious! The blend balanced out all the flavors you may pick up on a speedy sip if you drank the individual SO. The blend seems to have been created so as not to take away from a certain bean or add to another beans overall flavor profile. Very balanced. It is a pricey blend at $16/12 oz., but I feel it's worth the money to try at least once if you're apprehensive. I suppose pricey would be relative; coffee isn't pricey. Though if you drink a lot, it can add up quickly. I wouldn't use it in an espresso (though I'll try tonight). I find a FP allows you to taste the flavors of a bean without any external factors intruding upon the flavor.

Double Turkish.

Stepped on my first toy as a father. The first of many accidents. Usually, I wear some type of indoor loafer/slipper throughout the year because we keep it relatively cool and I hate cold feet. Couldn't be bothered getting them and was walking around without looking. Stepped on what I presume was a helicopter. Cursing and pain aside, the pain went away quickly.

I will throttle anyone who buys the kids legos before they're 10 off a cliff.

My parents bought me Lego at four; I loved it and it kept me quiet and occupied for years.

However, Lego and the living room were not compatible - we had our own play room and that was where the Lego lived (lots and lots of it, because my brothers loved it, too) and where the Lego was expected to stay.

I don't mind that. It's the choking concern, also the pieces can be quite small. Nothing wrong with legos. Even as an adult. My nephews are adults now, but when they were children, hey had multiple sets and maybe a thousand or so general pieces. It's all they wanted, that and train sets.

Our generations weren't blessed with having Knex, though. I think they allow far more creative designs and experiments to be conducted. The closest to toys I ever got once I got older to stop playing was probably building models. And that hobby has dried up. I still enjoy building the occasional birdhouse from excess wood cuttings.

Anyway, some (large carafe) of that African blend. Slept in this morning. Felt amazing.

@Zenithal: The "choking" concern is always a potential issue, but - then - you can also over-coddle or over-protect children.

My parents gave me Lego from the time I was around four or five; I am sure the roared instructions about not putting stuff in your mouth that wasn't food probably occurred as early as when I was two. Certainly, it never arose when I was a small child, as I knew enough not to want to put Lego in my mouth.

You were stationed there, James?

Will be drinking Klatch's "Out of Africa" blend. A blend of three single origins from Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda. Can't wait. Off to find a digestive biscuit.

Now, that sounds absolutely delicious, and it is nice to see someone blending intelligently. To my mind, coffees from the same 'area' - or region, or continent - might blend well together - much as wines and food from the same region often complement one another.

Espresso using that blend and eating a massive jujube the size of half my fist. I love these. They're one of the few highlights of fall and winter.

Costco is offering a special from Bodum. A 34 oz. Chambord Press with two 12 oz Pavina double-walled glasses for $30. A steal since the press alone is around $35-40.

Currently trying Crazy Goat blend from Klatch on a new order. Woody, chocolatey (I'm assuming there's a decent amount of Kenyan), and some lighter top notes. Great blend. A few pfefernuse would have complemented the coffee quite nicely.

Cup of chamomile tea and back to bed. Wishing I hadn't taken a nap before dinner now. Of course, who knew hibiscus tea had sedative properties...

This explains so much now.

Feeling a bit under the weather so sipping a cup of cooled boiled water. Head feeling “stuffy”. Change in the weather maybe. Autumn here in NE England.

Sweet Maria's?

Currently having black assam laced with rose petals. Delish.

Had some of that lovely Out of Africa Blend mentioned a page or two ago. There's enough left for us to make a nice presser of in the morning. Earlier today I ordered Golden Bean Espresso from Klatch. It's a master blend of Panamanian and Ethiopian coffee beans, catuai and an unnamed heirloom varietel. Also ordered was their Mutu Batak. A Sumatran blend of ateng, jember and garundang beans. All of which are unknown to me. Also ordered their Barundi nemba (washed). Great fun to go around.

That's a dangerous place to be in. When I find a sweet spot, I've been known pull several in a row. It makes for an...alert morning.
Doesn't happen so often for me. I'm pretty restrictive with my espressos these days.
98% of the days I only have 1 when I start my days. So once in a while, I can afford to indulge myself :)
I was an advanced coffee drinker & workaholic in youth. I've learned my lessons.

But it was some time ago I was this caffeinated

Most shots I've done in a day was probably 17 spread throughout. I was fine, but I was very thirsty.
Yep, although I'm not due for another order for a few weeks. I'm still working my way through the last 8lbs I ordered. It was half Ethiopian and half Kenyan, although the specific beans I don't recall at the moment.
How often do you roast your green beans? How much?
