I used a fork to minimize the melt and spread of the chunks. Had I used the wooden spoon, it would have turned into chocolate bars as if I'd used cacao powder. Usually when you make the butter mixture, you let it cool down to minimize the melt if you used chocolate. I went from simmering to pouring in one go and only realized the mistake after the fact.

Thanks for the explanation; how do you prepare the butter mixture?

Butter, brown sugar, maple syrup and honey with a pinch of salt in a small sauce pot. Slowly cook until everything is dissolved.

Ideally, you decide how sweet you want it to be. Maple syrup provides some earthiness to it. The honey is a preservative and provides some tackiness to the mixture. The brown sugar attracts moisture and provides a full flavor over castor sugar. You can add chopped nuts or seeds. And as I write this I realize we have dried currants and cherries I could have used instead of the chocolate. Oh well.

Thank you.

I think the dried currants and cherries would have gone down very well with that recipe. Maybe dried apricots as well.

Enjoying this lovely latte I’ve just make. Very nice.

A cup of Irish Breakfast tea from Twinings is going well with the afternoon. Having a splash of hot milk and honey with it.

Whilst in a Costa Coffee shop yesterday I noticed they are now seeking a “flat black”, as opposed to a “flat white”. What on earth is a flat black?!

Been enjoying hospital coffee for two weeks now (see “any disabled users” thread for details). Bout of necrotizing fasciitis which gone along with the index and middle finger of my right hand (plus some skin). I am serious the hospital coffee (filtered) isn’t bad at all. Food decent. Not worth finding out though. Will be participating more even before I go home as part of physiotherapy.

Be well.

Sorry to hear @decafjava

But regarding your fathers passing, incidents/health problems after such isn't so unexpected.
We live in some kind of illusion that we are separated from each other, but we surely aren't.
A lot of ourself, our own emotional/mental patterns & history, do die too, when people around us die.

I had my father & brother passing the same year some years ago.
If I hadn't extensive knowledge in the herb/alternative medicine area I'm more then certain I would've been a frequent patient in the years to follow after that.

I wish you good recovery & healing. Be kind to yourself.

Sitting here with a green smoothie loaded with health.
Also enjoyed the Cappuccino I had a bit earlier :)

Taking a break from coffee. I whipped up some lemongrass and spearmint tea. Made extra which will go into the refrigerator and brew more overnight. Recently got in some nice greens and a pound of Ajiri Kenyan black tea. Absolutely delicious tea. It had been sold out on a continual basis for months, but I managed to snag a phone order no less about a week ago. It arrived today, thankfully. The wet weather would have either delayed the order or it would have been damaged despite being shipped in weather proofed material. I don't really trust those things.

Edit: Having a second cup of that mixture. Absolutely relaxing.
