I received my order of Durgol Swiss Espresso Special Decalcifier, 4.2 fluid ounce Bottles today. Must keep the espresso and coffee machines clean!

A good craftsman takes care of his tools! The stuff should do a good job on your machines!

I ran out of fresh beans at work, so I am drinking Starbucks Vanilla flavored coffee. Yack!

Having just finished pulling my own double shot (and after all these years still astounded at how wonderful it tastes)...you have my deepest and most sincere sympathies for being forced, by circumstances, to drink the Starbucks dreck.:(

In a coffee shop.
Absolutely. Coffee is so much better shared with friends. Even virtually.

Wise words. And words with which I find myself in complete agreement.

I find that is a true statement for most of life. :)

Indeed, it is. Couldn't agree more.

Ain't it the truth!

For me, that pretty much describes what this thread is about...:D

I love this thread. It is great fun, welcoming, good-humoured and an absolute fount of knowledge and lore as applied to coffee, as always, a pleasure to visit.

An aside: A few weeks ago, I requested guidance as to what coffee - and listed a few I had ordered from the Intelligentsia site, as I wished to sample some of their wares - I should first open. At the time, I went with the Los Immortales (what a wonderful name!) from El Salvador. This was a really beautiful coffee, rich, somewhat sweet, and so utterly buttery smooth. An excellent and lovely coffee (and, judging by their website, something of a seasonal, but I'll keep an eye out for it).

I brought some of their others back with me, and am currently drinking their 'House Blend' which is lovely and smooth, but quite mild, yet very nice drinking.....

When I'm next home, which should be a little before (and briefly during) the Yuletide break, I'll order some more from them; actually, I'll order them before I return, so that they can arrive when I do, and I can enjoy the truly seductive action of prowling their website.

Apart from the excellent Intelligentsia site, has anyone else any recommendations for very good coffee that I can order? And, alas, I currently reside in an imperfect world where the options of roasting and grinding my own do not, as yet, exist......

After last months disaster of running out of beans and being without any coffee for 3 days (yes, 3 very long days!) I've learnt my lesson this month with the following arriving this morning:

- Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Chelelektu Washed
- Nicaragua Finca Limoncillo Washed Cattura
- Costa Rica Finca de Licho Yellow Honey Vila Sarchi

If you're in the UK (they might ship internationally, just haven't ever needed too) and haven't tried some coffee from hasbean.co.uk, what are you waiting for?

ps: don't work for them, just a very happy, long time customer ;)

This is a place to check periodically. It is the site from which I order green bean, but on occasion they roast some of their own SO and blends. It's kind of hit or miss, and not much in the way of variety, but Sweet Marias is a very high quality site...so I thought I would give you the link.

I checked...and they do ship internationally.:D

Edit: The next roast will be November 27...and it's Liquid Amber Blend...my favorite of all their blends.

I'm sure their roast of the blend will be almost as good as mine!:p ;)

As I spit in the face of those who might frown at repetition :)D), I can't help but promote Blue Bottle, Ritual, and Verve.

Incidentally, I love Garamond.

I was just sitting here looking at the Ritual page you linked as well. There are a couple of things there I would like to try as well (especially the decaf....which I am always on the lookout for since I was told to, uh, go easy on the caffeine).

You know what I need? Another mouth. So I can try everything I want to try.

Oh...gracious...what a straight line!

I will, however, abjure from making any poor taste (!) jokes to maintain the thread's proper atmosphere...unlike some people I could mention...

Not to mention recalcitrant, obstreperous, and truculent!

You must know me in real life!;)

Multiple mouths would be a godsend. I try to live a modest life, but coffee has become one of my rather serious indulgences.

What? 3 days? That's crazy, Badger. Next time, push the big red button and one of us from the emergency Espresso Enthusiasts gang will fly you out some.

Is this PRSI? ;)

At least we have more posts than the Bacon thread.
