Estimated Shipping Dates

Hey just ordered a Macbook and got an estimated shipping date of May 25th --- was just wondering if Apple is usually accurate about these estimations or do they usually just say a later date to be cautious when in fact items usually ship quicker?

Thanks for any input.

I ordered on launch day, 16th.... Shipping date was shown as 23rd. It shipped yesterday 18th.... I guess that's your answer :)
 
They are usually very conservative. Every Apple product I have every ordered got here earlier than expected/they told me.
 
my original ship date was the 23rd. it shipped last night/this morning. so, 4 days ahead of schedule. not bad.
 
Ordered evening of the 18th. Shipped by 25th, according to Apple.

I ordered mine ... I mean my wife's ... Tuesday afternoon - estimated shipping date May 23, delivery date May 29.

It shipped yesterday and is now spending the weekend in Anchorage. I guess it should be here Monday or Tuesday.
 
okay great looks like everyone's shipped out earlier than expected...

blitzydog i ordered night of 18th too (NY time) so...hopefully we get it on the same day.....or me just a little quicker

I ordered the evening too, and am in the same time zone (Ontario, Canada). Lets see if Apple Canada is faster than in America ;d
 
Wow,

I ordered on Day 1, and chose expedited shipping (based on website claiming shipment in 1-5 days and the need to have it in fewer than two weeks).

So I was a little bothered by spending the extra $20 when I got an email saying it had shipped late that evening. It arrived today. I don't mind having it 11 days earlier than I needed it, but I figured I could have had it shipped slow. Oh well. Based on what I'm reading here about ship dates, I'm glad I didn't wait longer to place the order.

same here. estimated delivery date according to apple's order page is the 25th now, although i'm hoping it will get here a day or two earlier...
 
Mine shipped yesturday, and the estimated delivery date is now the 29th, so that's 8 days earlier that what they originally predicted...
 
Ordered mine the day of the announcement. black, 120 gb, 512 ram. (wish i knew about the hard drive accessibility)

What time was the online store updated? I don't think I ordered too long after the announcement, 2 day shipping. It left china on may 18th at 10 pm. Arrived in Alaska at 1:13 pm (5/19) got to indianapolis at 11:57 PM (i'm not sure what time they're talking about for the different locations) from anchorage, ak. "initial shipment release" (from indy) 2 hours later. How long after the announcement did I order? I'm wondering if people who ordered after the announcement have already received theirs.

I do find it ironic that the new apple store is giving 1 macbook away each hour when people who've paid for one had to wait for them to come from china! :rolleyes:

I'm also nervous about opening it. With all these negative posts, should I just send it back and wait out all the (alleged) issues?

EDIT: Realized, you can't return custom built orders, right? So open it and hope it doesn't have any issues?

Looks like my wife's MacBook didn't like Alaska. It's now in Oakland. Pity they don't deliver weekends.

What about fedex? Do they deliver on saturdays (or sundays, for that matter)? Hmm, I doubt I'm getting mine today, which makes me really glad I paid the extra for 2 day shipping... :rolleyes:

I thought it was just Canada who didnt have postal service on the weekends, while the States has Saturday but not Sunday? Hmm

I think it's retarded, personally. But at least the packages move around on the weekends, right? They just don't get delivered to your door.
 
Well i just got an email from apple. Subject: Your Invoice #*******

Anyone else get this? Basically it just shows that the shipping (cause i paid 20$ for faster shipping) was charged to my visa. But it also said that it was shipped, i think - read the bottom:

blitzydog you cheater, you never mentioned that you paid $20 for shipping.

anyway i called apple and they said that my laptop is already labelled for shipping and will be sent out first thing monday, so i guess the same goes for you (unless they already shipped because of your upgrade?) so, that's that i suppose
 
also i got that invoice thing a few minutes after my order..? strange. without the french stuff of course.

Yah, as soon as I found out I'm up against an American, I went back and added the shipping. :rolleyes: heha.

Yah, I guess they'll both be shipped monday. I don't think mine was shipped yet. So what kinda MB did ya get?
