Hi thepanos,
isn't it a little naive demanding the same price for a product?
Would you expect (and demand) to get the same wage all over the world, too?
Where do you come from?

Apple is profitable and fashionable at the moment. That is why it does what it does. Because it can get away with it. That is all the justification it needs. Apple is not your mother, brother, friend, or anyone who cares about you. It is a cold, business organisation which is only interested in creating wealth for its shareholders. The minute you stop paying for its products is the second Apple stops caring whether you exist or not. The quicker people recognise and remember this, the better.

It doesn't even particularly care about its shareholders either, as afaik Apple doesn't pay dividend. So they are not making money for their shareholders, they are making money for themselves. And by doing so, they make share traders happy, but that doesn't have much to do with Apple directly.

nobody wants same wage ..but what about fair and equal pay all over the world for the same work
stop stop we certainly dont want that as we could then not live in the so called western world in the same living standard that we have now , but thats another debate and does not really belong in that thread here

but there is one thing that most forget , yes they compare it with entry level computers , and that is alright , form the technical specs of the entry mini with i5 ,5400rpm drive and integraded GPU you cant justify a price of £400 , small box or not ,

but most forget Apple is one of the only manufacturer who has SHOPS in over 300 cities around the world and some of those are extreme expensive to buy, have you seen a Rolls Royce dealership , very close in comparison to a Apple store , so stop talking about higher prices , yes Apple is expensive ,
so see yourself as privileged to be able to afford one and someone has to pay for those stores

was the biggest Apple store in Europe London Regent Street now Covent Garden store is bigger

doesnt look that impressive from the outside but hey you should go inside once you are in the UK, visit it its worth it
i've been in the new york 5th avenue store too ..and you know where your money goes, and you got somewhere to go if things go wrong and always remember you dont buy just a computer , you buy a Mac and it was always a bit more expensive to have taste
