Found it. Strange that they have not indexed it so it appears in a search like Pages and Keynote.

Maybe apple is hiding it, because the performance really isn't that good

After reading your post, I have to change mine:
The number one accessory definitely is a sunglasses cloth (or alike)!
I do have one tucked behind the iPad in the apple case, especially if you have kids...
And do not use window cleaner or something like this, because it'll dissolve the screen coating after a while.

Hello all,

1st ever post on here as I just signed up.

I got my iPad last friday as I had a friend purchase it for me in L.A. the 2nd day of it's US release..

Finally after tracking it for weeks on end (it appears to have been in transit between US and Finland for at least 17 days) I picked it up from customs and had to pay out an extra 90 euros on top of the US cost and shipping charges.

Oh well in the end it cost me 620 euros all in..

I set about loading it up with apps for me apps for my wife and apps for my 2 year old son..

I have been using..

Comic Zeal (all of my jpeg comics downloaded from the net in one place, absolutley amazing)
Air Video (connect wifi to my mac HD and EXT HD to watch all my films and shows)
Atomic Web (excellent alternative to safari)
Free Books (Project Gutenberg 30,000 books)
Ibooks from my US account (Free apps only no US credit card)
Dropbox... great alternative to keeping stuff on the pad
Filterstorm (pic editing app)
Weather HD
Kindle
Mixology.. (For my inner Bartender)
Classic FM
IMDB
Marvel
Shakespeare
Dictionary.com

For my son

Animal Match
10 Puppies
Prince Phonetics
RF Shadowbug
RF Balloon

RF Jacket
i Here Ewe
First Words Animals (Known always as Miaow Miaow)

That should be enough to be going on with..

I have put over 400 Comics including all Star Wars, Superman Batman , Preacher, Hulk and others.

Plus 4 movies... but with Air Video this is just a waste of space..

Jim

Just bought Pages... now I am happy.

After a unpleasant experience with an us bay seller I bought mine three weeks ago on German eBay. It's almost in non stop use (work and private) and for me it's not magical - it's extremely enjoyable and useful at the same time

Use some apps and downloaded many more... (is there something like an iPad app addiction ??) feel free to ask for some more in depth comments

My all time favorite is air video (lets me stream all my videos to iPhone an iPad over wifi and 3G)

For the kids:
Harbour master HD
Colour draw (loved by my three year old)
5 in 1 kids pack
Magic piano (my ten year old plays Tschaikowsky:rolleyes:)
Pinball HD
Bebbled
Hangman
I hear ewe (animal sounds)
plus lots of free stuff

For fun:
Eye tv (live tv and digital VCR if you have an elgato stick)
Transfer (transfers photos from iPhone or iMac over wifi)
Pocket pond
Bowls HD (err... My significant other is into meditation....)
Bigger words and banner HD
Scrabble
Speedtest and speediest HD
Die Welt (German newspaper) time magazine, ny times early edition
Wikipanion
App advice

Productivity:
Todo (syncs with my iCal)
Bento and pages (not really good)
Good reader
Camera for iPad (uses the iPhone camera remotely)
Drawing pad (use it like a notepad for easy diagrams by hand)
Sundry notes
Corkulous (like a cork board)

I tried a remote client jump desktop and didn't find it useful for me.

That's interesting, can you tell me which one you downloaded...

Downloaded jump desktop.. And it's not ok for me... First of all I had to set up an gmail account (in Germany and the uk gmail gets google mail due to copyright reasons) which was a pain in the a... Because I had to do it with anonymous ip...g as you need a gmail account, not googlemail)

Then I had it up running, but it did block my windows parallels machine by signing off (I wanted to use it in my practice, for writing the necessary stuff on weekends, but I can't really use it if it switches off the parallels windows machine on my main desktop in my practice)

Just my personal setting , maybe for you it'll work.

Due to personal reasons, I'm out of Mac rumors (quiet a pity, as the EU threads were a real pleasure )

Enjoy your ipads...

Thanks for that, sorry it didn't work for you. I use Citrix client on my iMac which works beautifully, I was hoping for the same sort of service with my iPad. We shall see. :)

Mine is even more pathetic - just The Elements so far

I have been ripping a load of DVDs though (now ripped to fit the iPad screen rather than my iPhone).

OK, I'm doing better now...

The Elements
Pages
Keynote
Numbers
iBook

Also, iTunes says my following iPhone apps are iPad optimised:

Delivery Status
Kindle
OffMaps

And, best of all, Memory-Map has just been updated and now runs at full resolution on the iPad - I'm a VERY happy bunny now!

Could not be bothered to write them all in so here is a pic:

Fill in any new and interesting apps that you may have come across.

OK then! I'll try not to mention the obvious ones which no doubt everyone will have heard of :)

  1. iMockups - great for working out website and/or app layouts.
  2. Pulse Reader - stylish RSS reader.
  3. iCab Browser - my main browser. Nice handling of bookmarks.
  4. Life Browser - interesting concept for touch control browsing with page pre-loading (basically "open in background tab" but less clunky).
  5. iTeleport - had this VNC/RDC on iPhone anyway (expensive!) but it's a universal app and works well on iPad.
  6. TiltShift Generator - interesting photo maniupulator.
  7. Setchbook Pro - I'm sure you all know this but had to mention it coz it's flipping amazing! (with a stylus - got a Pogo Sketch for using it).
  8. Popplet - mindmapper with unlimited canvas size. I only have the lite version, not really had a use for it but it is interesting.
  9. F1 Circuits - great use of Google maps.
  10. RJ Voyager - amazing music maker.
  11. iElectrobe - another awesome virtual hardware type music creator.
  12. Hector: Badge of Carnage - point'n'tap adventure. Only iPhone game but scales up really well. Such a brilliant piece of work - as good as the best of the Lucasarts games!
  13. Small World - board game conversion - 2 human players only. Nice deep game, really good looking.
  14. GT Racing - great racing game full of content.
  15. Galcon Fusion - game mechanics that are built for iPad!
  16. Carcassonne - another board game but has plenty of online multiplayer option. A good play - hard!
  17. Chain Link HD - simple but addictive game, perfect with touch screen
  18. Dominion HD - Risk type game but with some nice extra features and quality visuals.
  19. Broken Sword HD - anther point'n'tapper - great looking. I'm stuck tho :(
Would be interested in what nuggets others have found useful so far.

I've been inspired enough to start designing my own 'iPad only' app :D
