When it gets on the car and they queue it for delivery it will say it is on its way to you, they just don't disclose which stop you are on the long route of stops

When it gets on the car and they queue it for delivery it will say it is on its way to you, they just don't disclose which stop you are on the long route of stops My phone will most likely not arrive today... there was some delay because of a flight it says in my status page. Oh well... I hope they bring it tomorrow at least. Normally UPS is not driving on Saturdays, but not sure how it works with express packages.
The UPS plane from Cologne to Helsinki (via Malmö) is pretty late today (of all days). It showed up for a brief moment on the scheduled departure time on Flightradar24, but then disappeared. It took over an hour to get underway again.
I just hope they manage to get all the Apple packages sorted and delivered despite the delay 😮 Otherwise lots of unhappy people in Finland today.
(background: I handle lots of packages - work related thing - so as a hobby I also track the planes carrying them and have a pretty good idea of their schedules and ways they deliver)

Ugh that’s so annoying. I hope they’ll deliver on Saturday then. DHL delivered something on a Sunday a few weeks ago, while they normally never come here on Sundays. But they had a large amount of packages.
I pre-ordered my iPhone 16 Pro last week for in-store pick up and they immediately placed a pre-authorized charge of the full amount via PayPal on my credit card but they never actually charged me and today the pre-authorization was removed in my banking app. Is this normal? Last time I ordered something for in-store pick up, they did actually charge me beforehand so I just walked in and out with the phone without having to pay anything.
I mean, I would prefer it the other way around, especially since I am also doing a in-store trade in.

Edit: It is also worth checking out the online store in the morning by the way. I just checked out of curiously and there are devices back in stock for pick up today (Berlin, Germany)

Just got a message from DHL. It is on its way and will be delivered until 11:15. Now I am getting excited because it is the first time ever that I get an iPhone on launch day. I am switching from XS 🤫
My girlfriend also had a delay due to a late flight arriving in Berlin. But now it's out for delivery.

It is not at all unusual that pre-authorized charges "expire" after a week. Sometimes they are still there, but are not visible in the banking apps.
Yes sorry what I mean is that I am surprised they did not actually charge it like if they just wanted to make sure my card works, they could have also just pre-authorization 1 Euro and not the full amount of 1.199€.
In the past they actually charged a pre-order and if you did not pick it up, they'd charge back the money
My watch arrived as well! First got a 09.00-19.00 timeframe yesterday late in the evening, after my status that was on ‘label made’ the whole day. Then I got a time frame between 12.30-16.30 at 8.30 this morning and then it got delivered at 9.30 with UPS! I didn’t expect it yet.

They preauthorize the whole amount because they want to know that you could actually pay for the phone
At least here in Finland if you have a business address, DHL Express will go "out for delivery" in the morning, shortly after they land the plane here. But if you have a home address, then sometimes out for delivery happens at 3pm (15:00) or 4pm (16:00), as they start to deliver to home addresses. Probably a wise thing, because many people are not at home during the day. 🤷🏻♂️
So keep your fingers crossed, hopefully you will get your iPhone today as well!
I guess I made a fuss about nothing. In the end it looked like UPS was waiting for the packages to arrive and after that my iPhone is also out for delivery now and should come soon. 😅
My 16PM arrived at 10am. Currently setting it up, transfering the eSIM was a breeze.
