Right my official guess is that Apple wants to update the shipping dates across the globe for the MBPs.. they don't want anyone to accidentally put out the information before someone else so they take the lot down, make sure everyone has their changes in place and then bring them back up..

what I am not willing to guess is whether the page will say 'Now Shipping' or 'March'... the latter means that I will have to go an beat up a small puppy to vent my anger...

It would still make sense to keep the 512MB shuffle for the sub $100 price point, and they could even keep the 1GB shuffle for a while, priced, say, $30 less than the nano, for people who don't really care about the extras.
