Evacuation in Shanghai, delayed shipping

I am so frustrated with this whole weather situation in China!
I ordered my MBP baby on Sep 12, and it had to ship by Sep 25th, which was yesterday..
Fedex status says "Package data transferred to Fedex" since sunday morning and it's not moving anywhere!!!!
Does anyone else have a similar problem?
Have you heard anything more on typhoon in China?
 
i'm a bit confused...

call FedEx if you want to know why, but it know that they usually have to wait until they have a full load before shipping things so thats most likely the delay.
 
What IS frustrating is you not considering the lives of people being in danger over there.

Kinda ego-centric behaviour, being pissed because your computer doesn't ship while people may become homeless, dontcha think ?:)

all is fine now

It seems that typhoon was over on 20th, and everyone came back to their cities.
Called fedex, my MBP is on it's way.

And apologies if I insulted anyone with being impatient.

It's no worse than the iPod touch people wanting their stuff during the taifun. I'm sure if Cupertino was having a huge earthquake, they'd only worry if new Apple designs were destroyed. :D

im in pretty much the same situation...except i ordered sept 11
i tried calling fedex, but was on hold too long. i called apple and they said it was because of the weather, most likely. but that it still *might* come on time.

I think you'll find that our OP has a rather feminine name;)
Otherwise, I agree; she is simply expressing frustration. We can all feel bad for the poor people of China while being frustrated that our products aren't arriving; they are not opposing values.

Well, I think your MBP must be on its way now. When I called Fedex, they told me, that parcel data is not updated online, but she had all most recent data on her computer, and it was already picked up, and was going to ship wednesday night with a large cargo shipment. She also said, that (in the best extreme case) MBP will reach me by thursday, 5 pm.
:)) We'll see how true that is, haha:)

mine is now scheduled for arrival on oct 2.

Grouper, how's your MBP traveling so far?
fedex told me today that it'll reach me on Monday, Oct 1st.
Fedex tracking online estimates delivery on Wednesday, Oct 3rd.
I wonder how long it takes for it to get from the states to Ottawa.
My Fedex status shows:

I'm having a similar delay with my iMac:

26 Sep 2007 15:08 Shanghai Consignment Picked Up

So are conditions till bad in Shanghai, or is my delay unrelated and I'm just stuck in a backlog of cargo?

Hey I'm in the same Shipment Paulina and I'm in Vancouver Canada. I also got the same Estimate (Oct 3rd) online. Mine was supposed to ship the 24th but shipped the 27th.

I phoned FedEX and the only reason why Oct 3rd is the estimate is if it has to go through Canada Customs, however the Rep. said that its rare for Apple Products to go through customs (which adds a day or two I guess).

The Rep. also wouldn't confirm an earlier date because of the slight possibility of Customs.

Anyways good luck to us and everyone else!
 
Grouper, zen and dab3, if you guys get any new info on your shipments, post it up. I am in a sort of crazy anticipation.
My first MBP, a dream will come true on Monday! (Hopefully:eek:)
 
Got some info:

Rang Apple - they said there WAS a delay, but it has been sorted, delivery is still on for 3rd October.

Rang TNT - they said there WAS a delay due to some cargo needing to be offloaded from a shipment, but that this was now all reloaded and delivery was still on for 3rd October.

So... I'll have to believe them, I guess! Looks like the weather isn't a problem in China and the week-long holiday next week won't affect us either.

Same thing here with the delay. My schedule delivery was pushed to Oct. 2nd. It was delivered an hour ago.
 
Mine shipped the 25th but didn't leave China until yesterday. The delivery estimate was pushed back to October 2 but it was delivered this morning. My first Mac, I'm super excited!
