So much love lately for the bright crimson band has me hunting for one.
It’s legit the only rarity of the last handful of years
This is my first and only Nike band, and I’m so excited about it!

I found it at Marshall’s during my winter break and waited patiently for the price to drop to around $12. I finally grabbed it 2-3 weeks ago for a 41mm one.

It’s definitely the best sport band I’ve ever found in the past 8 years of wearing an Apple Watch. I’m surprised not more Apple Watch wearers have this band yet!

It comes in bold on every Apple Watch color from Jet Black to slate, and even on brighter colors like stainless steel and titanium. I took a different angle of the strap yesterday during a lunch event:

Today’s back to Ink Leather Link! Sunlit shot this time despite the shadows lol

Question: Are there serial numbers on the Apple and/or Hermes bands? I thought I heard that there was a tiny number on the middle tab of one of the lugs. Can someone clarify this?
LTTP response but I recently noticed this in my Nike band. Ima ping @Stella_Fudge to tell you more about it.

I have to zoom all the way in to get a better look at it but if I have a chance to get an  sport band out and find it I will update you on it.

I couldn’t resist, Nike sport band in Bright Crimson/Gym Red is on it’s way to me, and it’s the European version with the S/M & M/L straps

Finally you got one! ☝️
Don’t forget to log it on Bandbriete, bruv 👊!

The USA 🇺🇸 version comes with separate sizing, I got the m/l 41mm version but it was the only one that was available in the store. The added holes in Nike bands were easier for me to tighten it up and make sure the longer part stays all the way innit.

@choreographics it is interesting some straps come with only single size for newer year Sport Bands. I thought at first single size length bands in s/m and m/l were only solely on Apple Watch Ultra bands, FineWoven/leather straps and Hermes.

How many straps on the database specifically of that type are isolated as s/m and m/l only? I know Apple used to give both lengths with each lug size but I noticed the 2021/2022 and later ones had a couple of separate length ones. Your information can be helpful for y’all looking for straps that we all have to make sure that we get the size we need.

If I remember correctly, Apple started in the Fall of 2022 with the US before expanding worldwide a year later (the Pride Edition Sport Band in 2023 was the first one). Since then, every new Sport Band and Nike Sport Band is available in S/M or M/L.

In Bandbreite, there is a second MPN for every size and the info "Available in two sizes, S/M and M/L." on band details.

I believe you’re 100% correct on that, from personal experience I can only comment on 2022 Nike sport bands I have the black/black and now the crimson red, which come with both size straps being that they are the international version. For sure that was a cost cutting move by Apple.

Dang, bro! No wonder I noticed these single-length bands popping up in the store when I was looking at the packaging of sport bands manufactured by Apple starting in late 2022, like that Nike one. I was surprised to see them on both Nike and regular Apple sport bands.

I do recall seeing a few entries in the Bandbriete encyclopaedia describing these straps with an additional description stating that each lug size has three MPNs which the bottom one is the single length ones (s/m only and m/l). Here’s a look at the entry for the Nike strap that we were discussing earlier:

It became more prevalent in latest sport bands, here’s the entry for the Tangerine Sport Band:

So, here’s the thing: Apple used to include both the long and short lengths of the band in the box, but now they’re only offering one size of each length. You can see that each case size has two MPNs. But guess what? The app hasn’t shown the series 10 case sizes yet. Our OP said they’ll be in a new update in a few months. It’s a bit late, but it’s still useful if you need to know which strap is included in the box (like if the sticker on the band box is faded or damaged, like my Bright Crimson band box had tape all over one side of it).

Due to carbon neutrality reasons to cut costs on packaging… this is how iPhone boxes got thinner in the past few years.

It was about more than just the packaging too. Having both the S/M and M/L pieces also generated a lot of landfill waste. After all, you could only wear one of those two pieces. So the other would be left in the box and likely end up in a landfill. So, Apple reduced the size of the band box (allowing more to be fit per shipment), reduced the weight of the box (reducing the fuel and emissions needed to ship them), and reduced unused band pieces that end up in landfills. It’s true that Apple benefits financially from this change. But it was still the right thing to do from an environmental perspective I think.

True that. And we are behind schedule. 🫣. But I hope it is worth the wait.

However, you can always check the website since all sizes are in the database. The link is available inside the action "three dots" menu in the upper right corner.

The creators of the Bandbriette app work in their free time writing/maintaining and updating this awesome app. They are not paid for their time nor hard labor for this wonderful app. I and many others appreciate everything they do for us. If it wasn’t for Bandbriette, I would still be using a spreadsheet without all the extra information and images included in Bandbriette. I will never complain about what is missing in this awesome app nor the time it takes to update this app.

Back to the topic of this thread. My watch band for today, Ultra with Blue/Gray trail loop.

Heartily seconded!

Now that we’ve newly seen it’s possible for someone to make prolific contributions to the band community in a negative way, it makes me appreciate the top-notch work of the Bandbreite team that much more.

Anyone with the space black link bracelet with the silver stainless steel watch? I wanted to see how the combination was 🤔

We’re curious about the new Apple Watch Sport bands. They seem to only come in one size lengthwise, unlike other straps in the past. But hey, the app is still great! Our OP mentioned that there’s a web version of the app with all the new 42mm/46mm model numbers online. I checked the periwinkle band example he provided above 👆🏻 on Bandbriete’s website on my iPhone and desktop, and it shows the Series 10 model numbers.

Agreeable. Unless if your wrist size changes so drastically people usually did not get to wear the other length enclosed in the band box. The boxes did get thinner when they did this sizing change, the ones we get since the Apple Watch Ultra and the series 9s and 10s now have the boxes open like envelopes ✉️ and the pull tab on the side instead of one end of the box. Still good for carbon neutrality y’all!!!
