just a random thought...but if apple is letting the public choose which band they want rather than choose from apple's pre-selected combinations, i foresee bands selling much quicker.

before the public couldn't be arsed to get a separate band for $50 that didn't come with their watch originally, but now that they can choose said band i feel we will be seeing more bands out of stock

I'm going to buy some of the newer bands sooner than later. I remember the Canary Yellow Summer band selling out quickly. I got lucky and was able to purchase it when Apple briefly restocked it a few weeks back.

Honestly, this Summer had some of the nicest colours/bands I’ve seen released. Canary is quite nice. It’s like a mix between Pollen and Lemonade.

My collection from this Summer

In my opinion it was long overdue that they allowed this. The Watches that had a more expensive chassis, such as the Stainless Steel had literally only two selections of what band could come with your Watch - namely a White Sport Band (meh boring) or a more pricey Milanese Loop that you might already have. While the cheaper Aluminium got a plethora of Sport Bands and Loops to choose from to come with their watch.

Next step - offer to just buy the Watch, without a band, for a slight discount (perhaps the cost of a Sport Band). Attractive preposition for people that have many bands + no interest in a new one

yes, i think the apple watch studio should've happen last iteration because that was when they started housing the watch and bands separately. this 'choice' just means us collectors really do have to grab what we want sooner because now the competition is vast.

a downside to the apple watch studio is before the gold aluminum and black aluminum watches came with bands that had matching pins (loved the gold/rose gold ones!) but now its all silver to be more interchangeable. i hope by next time they let us go further by choosing a color pin.

Not sure if this is the right spot for the question but: Are the new leather loops made differently for the lower cost? Im looking at the old/current light blue bands and those havent dropped in price anywhere, im wondering if it makes sense to just wait it out a season or two as they add more colors in the $99 price point

The Alaskan Blue Sport Loop had been showing a mid October delivery date the last few days. It just changed back to 9/20 delivery. Order placed.
Wow, the delivery date is now back to 10/17. Whatever restock they got didn't last long. Glad I got my order in. This looks to be the most popular new band.

I was on the fence with this one but didn't want to miss out. So...I just ordered a 44mm Alaskan Blue loop and the delivery date is Sept 20. The Alaskan Blue band also has a Sept 20 delivery date. Royal Pulse/Black and Desert Sand/Volt have Oct 4 delivery date.

yes i learned from experience its best to just grab the ones you want when you can. you can always return them no questions asked anyway. i got dragon fruit sport loop and band when they launched and see how popular and rare those became

I whole heartedly agree with you when you see one you want pick it up while you can. Otherwise you're at the mercy of the markup on them. I mean even at $50 they're expensive for what you're actually getting it just stings a whole lot less than paying 2, 3 or more times the initial sale price.

I did get lucky a couple of months ago and found Cape Cod blue on Apple's website even after it was out of production. I'm so glad I jumped on that one.

anybody waiting for bands tomorrow?

i got the pomegranate loop coming in tomorrow
