Did YOU steal my peach! I keep missing out or getting outbid on them.

I dont think so, I got that peach from another site where you can make an offer, I didn't think the seller would take it but they did. I was disappointed because they put it up as brand new and never worn, but when I got it, it was clearly worn, its in decent shape, I just dont like it when people lie on their posts. but no, I dont think I took this from yah, it was not from Ebay.

🤣 you're the second person today to ask me if I took their bands!!! LOL! lucky, it looks like I was not the culprit in either scenario

I’ve tried on a couple different sites. Wasn’t meant to be for me..

Has anyone had any experience removing or at least reducing “shine” on used bands? I’ve got cleaning down to a science at this point but shine seems to be a different monster altogether.

Half Tempted to get 3000-4000 grit sandpaper and do a practice test on a super worn spare band I would otherwise never touch in my life.

Three of my absolute favorites. Good luck in finding them!

Sure.

Desert Sand/Black

Photos were taken at different times, but I love them all.

Edit: Black/Cool Gray, Flat Silver/White, and Flat Silver/Volt were all exclusive to the Nike watch. Light Bone/Black was exclusive to the Nikelab version. Black/Volt was originally exclusive to the watch, but was later sold separately before being discontinued. Every other color not mentioned above was sold separately.

Thanks!

Good to know. Those 3 & Black/White all seem to be scarce, I don't come across them for sale as much.

dish soap for cleaning, hand soap for the dirty work. Liberally applying hand soap to the affected area and working it in with a toothbrush for a few minutes before rinsing away with hot water won't make it disappear, but it vastly helps. took off maybe 50% of the shine on my pure platinum after a few passes. YMMV.

edit: Just tried it on my Black/Cool Gray.

In haven’t tried for real, but after washing one I dried it extra roughly, rubbing/buffing with a terry cloth towel when drying, and some of the shine came off that way.

I haven't tried it yet, but some Googling turned up advice from a (dumb) watch forum that I plan to follow for my White band as it had lots of denim staining and went shiny in getting that off. I think my search was for fluoroelastomer specifically, and it was a response from someone who claimed to have done it on a Rolex (I think) black band.

1,200 grit sandpaper and a light wipe over with a Cape Cod cloth. Even 2,000 is too fine and makes the shine worse.

I will answer for her since we both have the same storage case

I have this one.

I do not see the one she has listed on target.com any longer.
It is! And @jwlbel is right, I don’t see it anymore 🙁 mine is two equal sized drawers. There are other models, made by sorbus.
This looks like perhaps it's the two drawer model Fhotofaerie has (at an unreasonable price):

And a four drawer (same deal, twice as tall, less money, like jwlbel’s minus the top two half drawers)

And jwlbel’s (four full drawers, two half drawers), but with a removable lipstick holder on top:

That last also has a variant with three full drawers and four half drawers.

Amazon has a bunch of listings for Sorbus, many of which then contain multiple variants and colors:

And to think, I arrived in this thread a bit ago not knowing that I needed a makeup and jewelry case...

and now I’m not sure which one I need 😂

Well, since everyone’s posting their latest eagerly-awaited arrivals, this arrived late yesterday. I’m having trouble getting decent pics, but it’s fabulous. The leather feels luxurious, looks lovely, the stitching and construction is immaculate, and it fits well.

Looks like mine is coming Monday. Congrats! Would love to see more angles.

Here’s to hoping Hermés does more SBSS hardware options.

Definitely interesting to see them out in the wild. Maybe I could afford one come 2040...

I just stole an old cork board from a local office building and bought some clear pins. Stapled some white paper to cover the cork, and working on perfectly spacing out the pins to make a wall mounted solution until I can afford to get a 3D printer. I think a collection as big as ours should deserve to be displayed rather than shoved in a box (Will give you the benefit though, it is a clear box.)

You did it with soap or toothbrush or the sandpaper? It looks great!
Hand soap. It's harder on the surface than dish soap.

Apply hand soap to the band, maybe run it under the tap to add a tiny bit of water, and scrub it in with the toothbrush for a good 30-60 seconds. I then run it under the tap for another 15-30 seconds, still scrubbing at it with the toothbrush, then dry it off. Also did a second run with dish soap. That was the end result.

Hanging is my ultimate goal! Your method is what I’ve been thinking to do as a start as well.

The result is pretty impressive! While we’re at it, any tip to get rid of the sweaty smell for Sport Loops after a lot of cardio? I’ve cleaned them with soap, I’ve tried sodium bicarbonate, I’ve cleaned them in the washing machine with my clothes, nothing really works. It fades a bit, but I still notice it. I’m probably gonna migrate from Sport Loops to Sport Bands (I had zero not long ago, now I have the two Pride bands, and I have 4 more on the way... you guys did this to me (and my wallet))

That looks like it did go really well.

As I posted a few days back I've taken to washing mine in the shower with the face wash I use - that seems to take a bit of the shine that I assume comes from skin oils off really well.

I'd really struggle to compete from NZ, except perhaps with these:

Hermes 44mm Indigo/Craie/Orange single tour swift used in box NZ$180 - ~US$112
Hermes 42mm Noir Rallye, 42mm Hermes Orange Sport Band both used in box, plus Blue Stripe Nylon Buckle (grubby but Persil and a toothbrush cleaned it perfectly) NZ510 ~US$316

Got a free cocoa new in box locally once.
Blue Orbit for $28, used but good condition.
Saddle Brown Classic Buckle, two of them, one for free (really bad condition, saved the lugs and threw it away) and one for $4 (ok condition, gave it to a friend)
Black leather loop, new in box for $16
Black Milanese for $20

All but cocoa were from eBay. I could go on...

Hyper grape $45 (both sizes; seller accidentally sent mismatched pieces)
Mint $30
Cloud $50
Milanese $25 (with old style box)
Blanc/noir/gold single tour sealed $215

Does  returning a defective soft white edition in addition to replacing it count?

That’s awesome! Thanks. I’ve looked on amazon before but not seen the sorbus case. My bands are living in a shoebox now so this would be a nice step up!

are you saying you can get a new boxed Hibiscus sport band for around 75 EUR? in both sizes? I may be VERY VERY interested in that
Yes, I can. But hurry - we're preparing the package with @toxtrepla already, would ship it on Tuesday most probably. You still have a bit of time
[automerge]1590746413[/automerge]
Just got outbid on a 42mm Rio Woven Nylon. It sold for $57 I think. Sad times man.
Sorry man - that was me 😅 Lucky one, but I am still looking for Netherlands 42mm and I have hard times finding sealed USA 42mm - ready to pay ALL THE MONEY, but nowhere to be found...

I've scored quite a few rare bands under RRP (e.g. a couple of Blue Orbit/Gamma Blue Nikes, Hyper Grape Loop, Close the Rings 2018/2019) just by getting lucky on eBay, but probably no deal compares to getting a genuine Hermes Double Tour Fawn Barenia for £30 ($36). Couldn't believe nobody else bid on it.

It was 38mm (I wear 42/44mm) so I offered it to my mum but she said she was happy with her current band, so sold it for about £250 instead.

I genuinely quite enjoy the process of buying bands, trying them out, and perhaps selling them on for a little profit. Means I can try quite a few colours for minimal outlay.

My latest attempt is a boxed (but worn) Ultra Violet from a local seller... not sure if it's 38mm or 42mm though. Hoping it's the latter, if not I might have one available to trade.
