if anyone has seen that commoercial for verizon where the man flips the 9 in 99.99 to a 6 to make it 69.99. He uses his hand like a touch screen in that commercial. maybe a hint at a touchscreen device coming? (tablet, vzn iphone)

Except for the fact that Verizon has done literally zero advertising for the Palm pre. It's not even on their front page! This is an indication that Verizon does not want to detract from another soon to be released device which I'm guessing is the iPhone or the iTablet (or whatever the heck they're calling it as of 5 min ago). I'm expecting good things tomorrow.
I wouldn't call laying off 8,000 people exciting. Would they say this the day before a big release? Makes you wonder.

jajajajajja Verizon can suck it one more time! AT&T got the big enchilada... T-Mobile also benefits from this if they get their act together.
I would be shocked if Apple made a CDMA iPhone now. If anything, T-Mobile may get the iPhone in June, but it sounds like Apple is not looking to drop AT&T anytime soon.
Does the Wifi model support T-Mobile's 3G bands? If not, then AT&T may have renewed their deal, or did doesn't end till 2012 as rumored.

So, now we can drop all the rumors about anything exciting coming from VZW, okay? Apple's obviously decided to go with AT&T, especially after the iPad got announced.
Just checked T-Mobile's 3G bands, and by the looks of it, the iPad does 850/1900/2100 MHz bands, and T-Mobile uses 1700/2100 MHz bands.
Seems like AT&T is a big winner here again.
HOWEVER, T-Mobile does support GSM/GPRS/EDGE frequency connections for the iPad. Same deal as the iPhone. Does everything except 3G.

To be honest, they shouldn't. You **** off Jobs twice (once with not giving him the time of day with the iPhone, twice with calling his phone a 'misfit toy') create a network not confirming to a global standard, and they think Apple should kowtow to them and make a phone for them? VZW screwed themselves over until LTE rolls out completely.
This is like what Sprint did to Nokia in 2001. sprint told them that they must make phones for them or they won't sell nor support them. Nokia said 'screw you' and stopped making phones for Sprint. In VZW's case, VZW ****** Apple off from the onset.
