External drive not recognised

I’ve just got a new M3 MacBook Air - I’ve got a couple of external hard drives that work absolutely fine on my old intel air but will not show up on the new one. They’re getting power but not listed in disk utility or showing up anywhere. Still work fine when plugged back into the old machine.

Any ideas what’s causing this?
