done! m8 waiting for 7970.. i think is better wait.. since it will come very soon... and can be much more better then x2 5870 , i cam do x2 7970!

mate i have problem to close the front panel.. since if i use molex the wire let be impossible mac pro to close well... do you know if i can use the sata adapter to molex direcly from sata hard disk controller? , mac pro have 4 of them.. i could remove 1 hard disk and use 1 of them? does it work anyway?
can t find anyway to let the molex go out optical bay without make problem...

If you're willing to lose an HDD bay, then Yes, it's possible (still a backplane connector on the backplane board = one with the PCIe slots).

But what you have will work, and there are ways to route it (not exactly easy according to others that have run cables from the ODD bay to other parts of the system, but possible).

Most have run SATA data cables to cards that have done this, but the location/s they routed the cable through would be useful.

Take a look at the pic in this post, and see if it helps. Also, the same member, seisend, made a video of what he did (here), which might help out as well.
