This is really weird - I have 2 Samsung SSD discs connected to MBP and that "magician" sees nothing, only Apple SSD ... or am I missing something ? What is the point of this "Samsung magician" when it does not see any external Samsung discs ?
Now I'm sorry I mentioned it!
There's no info at the Samsung site as to how to get this to work on current versions of macOS. I suspect recent security upgrades in macOS keep it from working. I think DriveDX requires something (a system extension) to be added for it to see USB drives…as well as reducing security settings…and this could be the same situation.
I have had mechanical Samsung drives and one of their SATA SSDs go south on me and it was only Samsung Magician (running on Windows) that found an error…macOS Disk Utility didn't see a problem. I needed that info to ease the process of getting replacement drives (via warranty) from Samsung.
Anyway, I also tried Magician and it didn't work for me even after going through a few more steps. Additionally, I had to start up in recovery mode and use terminal to remove some of the crap it installed. Puzzles me as to how it can install that stuff with my admin password but I can't just delete it.
