I can't believe that my seven months old Air is technically still a latest gen Apple product.

I think the direction they are heading is exemplified by the nMB and watch bands. I wouldn't actually assume a Macbook Pro or Mac Pro are coming at all. iMac + rMB 12" and 14" is where it's at. In rose gold.

Actually, the retina MacBook is Apple's latest gen product ;)

The MB MBA is probably going to be discontinued - at least that's what many folks here think.

The Apple Store
I thought that WWDC was very good this year, and I've been very cynical towards Apple events over the last year or two. Lots of exciting new features like Universal Clipboard and the redesigned lock screen were added, which to me, add a lot of value to my devices.

I'm not too pleased with the direction that Apple is heading, but I will say that I haven't found any other combination of devices that works as well together as my all-Apple lineup. The consistency, reliability, and ease of use is unparalleled. Until Apple stops providing me with a great user experience, I'll continue to use their products.

The MacBook Pro wasn't ready and what would be the point in releasing a TB display when you don't offer a product that can use it? We don't know the upgrade cycle for the Apple Watch but I am glad that it isn't 15 months - There are people who don't have hundreds to spend on upgrading their watch every year. Remember that it's a watch.

When will it be?

I mean seriously, apple has been sitting on a serious refresh for some time. The 15" model is still using the Haswell chipset. We're now presumably waiting for kabylake for that model. I certainly hope we don't get a thinner laptop with less ports.

This is Apple what else to expect, so you can be guaranteed of paying more for less and thinner for the sake of it.

Negative on Kaby Lake, Apple`s choice of CPU wont launch until Q2/Q3 2017

There is no need to do this...
You may not need to upgrade but releasing a new model will make the previous outdated which will annoy consumers regardless of the features and could possibly result in slower performance due to watchOS 4 being built for the new hardware.

It will only be 1 - 2 less ports (as it was with the retina redesign) although the variety will likely disappear. Waiting for Kabylake would mean a March 2017 release and i'm sure Apple won't leave it that late but they could do if they are desperate to wait.

Aren't new models every year or so the life of a tech product?

Yeah but it is different with something that has already existed - a watch. While it may be a piece of tech as you can see from Apples moves they are trying to separate it from the gadget world. Arguably the naming shows this: 'Apple Watch' is more traditional and less geeky than 'iWatch'. They want consumers to see it as a watch and not something that they would want being replaced by a new, better model every year (i.e. a tech product). I am not talking about the tech-savvy consumer that wouldn't mind spending the money on a new model when it is released, including myself to some degree, I am talking about the average consumer.

You never know, eventually a watch may be something that people spends hundreds to replace every year but right now it is not quite at that stage for the average consumer that Apple is targeting. A 18 - 24 month cycle as Apple is planning is not as bad. I am sure Apple have been dying to update it for a while, given the issues and limitations it has had, but they know what they are doing when it comes to updating a mainstream product.

I don't see the difference. All smart watch manufacturers including those in the fitness sector have an update cycle. While I dont have an Apple Watch, I bought one for my son, he loves it. But I can't see how anyone wouldn't expect a watch upgrade at some point in the future. I do agree all of these devices have to balance battery life with functionality, unlike a traditional watch.
