When ever I lock the phone, and immediately wanting to just turn the screen back on, it takes much longer than usual. Anybody experience the same issue?

I haven't had any issues with unlocking being slow, I usually update as new but this time I just upgraded OTA since I didn't want to redo everything. I'm just waiting on my iPhone 7 plus to come in to set everything up the way I like. If you can just set up as new to see if the problem is still there.

I tired turning off press home button to unlock. It is slightly faster but it is WAY slower than iOS 9.

You might need to Reset All Settings. It may fix whatever is causing this anomaly.

Yes, I done it twice and had to drive far to Apple store and they didn't understand why..Apple tried it 3 times and they ended up changing my phone to ios9 and told me to wait it out until the next update. I have until October 20th to bring it in for an exchange according to them when my Apple Care expires.

I have the same issue on IOS 10.0.01.
After clean install and restore from backup was faster during 1 day, than the issue appeared again.

After clean install try to turn off the e-mail preview from notification center.
After this change the speed is better in my case.

wow, my phone failed spectacularly yesterday. Nothing was working, couldn't turn on the screen at all. Then I was forced to go to DFU mode during a networking event. What an embarrassment. Suddenly, today, everything was fixed. No more lag whatsoever. What is going on Apple?!?!

So this problem was magically fixed itself but since now I've upgraded to iOS10.0.2, the problem resurfaces again. I have lost all hope in Apple now.

I have the same problem, both on my 6 and now on my 7 after doing a restore from backup. My 7 was just fine when it was new. A couple of days ago it magically fixed itself, but yesterday it went back to being slow to unlock again.

Mine does too, but is normal when charging. When pulling off the lightning cable it goes back to being slow.
