With the threads you see on Face ID vs. Touch ID vs. Passwords I started to wonder just what it is people really use. Do people that have Touch OD or Face ID use it? If they do is it a "simplicity rules" or ...

If you have Face ID do you use it?
If you have Touch ID do you use it?

Friends of mine who have one or the other all don't use it. I was surprised. I had assumed most did if they had it. A couple I asked said they got tired of setting it up or just could not count on it. Personally if I have it I do my best to use it. I currently have a Razer with their version of Touch ID and use it.

Please take a moment to vote and let us know why you use what you do. And if you are not an iPhone user, vote but kindly let the readers know what you use. I am not looking for is one better than the other, rather having it, do you use it, or not, and why.

Update: For those that have both, I have updated the poll to allow you to choose both.

I have Touch ID and I use it as often as I can, mainly for its convenience factor. I only enter passcode when necessary.

If Face ID works as efficient as Touch ID, I might consider using it.

FaceID all day long. Annoying when I have to go back to using my finger print on my 10.5" iPad Pro as it doesn't always recognise my print - TouchID was always unreliable like that.

FaceID. It's now so natural that I don't really realise I'm unlocking my phone and when I need to use my wife's 7, which has my fingerprint, I often stare stupidly at it before realising I have to "manually" unlock it.

Ive always used touch ID on my older phones, and now Face ID. I find those a lot easier than putting in a password. I will admit, Touch ID was better when unlocking my phone while driving :p but I generally do prefer Face ID even with its flaws.

Absolutely. Face ID on my iPhone and Touch ID on my iPads. I find Touch ID pretty annoying to use after having Face ID since last year. Also a long alphanumeric password with those.

I know many people who hate using any of this, even 4 digit passcode as they find it annoying. One friend left their iPad behind on a plane that wasn’t passcode protected at all. They had a heart attack thinking about how much personal info would be visible to whoever found it. Needless to say they have since changed their stance on security/passcodes.

On my 5S and 6S, I used Touch ID all the time. On the 6S the second gen Touch ID was lightning fast and worked at least 95% of the time. Only times it would not work were when I had wet/greasy hands or, sometimes, when I would grab my iPhone out of my pocked and inadvertently touch or press the home button in the midst of doing so. Other than that, it worked quite well.

With Face ID, it also works about 95% of the time. I DO have the option for requiring extra attention turned on in the settings, so I have to make eye contact with it for it to work. But it does work and the process of pulling out the phone and swiping up is a natural one. The majority of the time, I am not necessarily even aware that I am "using" Face ID when I unlock the phone. The only times it has not worked are when I'm not making eye contact or when I have something in the way. For example, when I tried unlocking while I was chugging from a bottle of water I had up to my face or when I tried unlocking as I was amidst a large, open mouthed yawn. But then I entered my passcode after the Face ID failed attempt and it learned to recognize me in those conditions.

And?
The poll is what technology you use to secure your device. If you have more than one or one kind you can multi-select.
Not seeing your point ...

If you do not own an X you can not use FaceID. I think there are less X units out there compared to iPhones using TouchID. That gives touchid an advantage in the poll. Not that it matters.

FaceID is a habit, and it works all the time. Only time it doesn't work is when I have my full face helmet on at the gas station, much easier to enter password than to take it off!
