Well, I was being a little stalker on Twitter and stumbled on Joe's page and I saw this.

@joehewitt can't wait to use it... :) Will it be pushing chat messages and other notifications? I really can't wait till 17th

@mohdabdurraafay it's coming along. hopefully later this month.

I don't want it beeping everytime someone posts. I'm not that addicted to facebook. I hope they real functionality instead of push. The facebook app is nice but lacks much of the functionality of things you do on the site. It's still lacking in so many areas, I hope the concentrate on those areas first.

i agree but i think we can all say that it is already way better than the myspace app

i know i cant believe i still used it. i saw a review on the facebook app for iphone and tired the desktop and mobile versions and all i could say was "Wow":cool:

also found like everyone i had from myspace with the built in friend suggestion tool and it was all good!
 
My fb app only provides me with the occasional status update/link/photo in the "home page"? Not all friend updates are included like in the web version.

Anybody else notice this? I hope the 3.0 app fixes this.
 
The facebook app needs to allow for the third party web applications to launch, that would be great. Now I don't expect things like the Flash games to work, but at least allow me to read the notifications those third party apps provide, instead of saying "You have a new message from so-and-so application"
 
Joe submitted a update for the current Facebook on a few weeks ago. He's waiting for it to be approved by Apple. All it'll do is fix the Facebook bugs present in 3.0.

people like this app, so apple prob won't authorize it until july like everything else
 
Is this going to be the same thing, just with push? I really want an actually functioning app. I hate how links work on this app, and how clunky the interface is.

I'm the opposite. I hate Facebook and like Myspace. They're both getting kinda old. We need a fresh, new social networking site.

Facebook 3.0 isn't coming until later on.

He submitted an update for the "current" Facebook app...

A bug thats present is opening the camera in the app.
 
Facebook app needs a few extra work done.

It looks amazing! compared to the Myspace one! (which i don't use anymore) it looks horrible and the interface is complicated to use!

I would like to write my own notes, all of my friends status updates, etc, better chat interface and push notifications. This is one of my favorites apps on the app store, free, and i just love Facebook. I dont even use my Myspace anymore!

PS: I hate Twitter, lol.
 
What I want is support for uploading videos to facebook, now that the 3G S supports that.
 
facbook 2.5 just came up for my updates. Just says adds support for OS 3.0

guess we are still waiting on "facebook 3.0"
