if they bought out a facebook app with push notifications I would be so happy, and the power to stay online when you close the app so you can still recieve messages from friends
when it finally gets approved
Key word there is "when." I think there's something wrong with push updates or something. Apple seems to be holding off on any USEFULL app with push updates. I think, as the past has shown, they purposefully take longer to approve some apps. The whole process is pretty ridiculous. Another reason to still jailbreak.
I guess NO ONE was listening to me when I said that Facebook 3.0 is coming LATER on this month, and that he's releasing an update soon, just to fix the bugs in the current Facebook. (Facebook 2.5, which was just released) I told you it was because of the camera in the Facebook app acting crazy, and b/c he had to do it to enable FB to be compatible with OS 3.0.

Facebook 3.0 is still in development. It'll have added features, etc. Facebook 2.5 was just so Facebook would be compatible with OS 3.0. Remember all apps have to be enable to work with OS 3.0, so thats why he submitted the quick update for it. We'll see it soon Facebook 3.0 soon. Be patient. From the looks of it, all the real "push" applications aren't coming until the end of the month...like BeeJIVEIM, AIM, etc. I don't think Apple servers are ready for it yet.

Hopefully 3.0 will enable you to copy text a bit - it's really annoying that you can't do things like copy postal codes that people have sent you to find their address.

id like to see facebook 3.0 act the way the facebook app on Blackberry works, get push notifications and badges on the facebook icon. A neat thing about the BB version is also when I used to get any notification for facebook, the email wouldn't go to my email inbox on the phone, just directly to the app so it wasn't doubled up.
joehewitt I will submit the new Facebook app to Apple within a few weeks. We're working on push, but it won't be ready until later this summer

That was never a big bug though, I had that too. When you actually posted the picture it was clear, just appeared but be blurry when uploading.
Duff-Man says...well, it is *free* so I personally don't expect anything instantly. I don't think there is any right to complain about a free application. If you want it sooner why not toss the programmer a few $$ for his time....oh yeah!

Why we wont see this for months
Apple will reject it because it duplicates another program an Apple employee once thought about or because it will compete with someting that may or may not be in iTunes 9 .
ATT will beg Apple to reject it because people will use it thereby causing theoretical bottlenecks in ATTs network.
Apple will insist making it wifi only.
Apple will sit on it until 3.1 is released and kick it back to the developer because it hasn't been tested in the 3.1 environment.
I am a facebook junkie and can't wait for it.

Well, it is one of the most popular/most widely used application's, It's possible!, But then again, Right fair enough, this is Apple!
I truly don't believe that Apple has any "fast track". Hence my agreement with the latter part of your comment.
