Apple does fast track certain apps. I know this as I am a developer and know a couple of people who have been contacted by Apple and they have been told that all updates will be processed faster than others.
Who has Apple contacted and told them their updates are processed faster?

high profile apps should be processed faster. Its not fair but they are the apps people depend on.

Facebook is going to release this 3.0 version because it's the next MAJOR version of FB for iPhone. Thats why. It has nothing to do with iPhone OS 3.0 or 3.1! FB will release 3.1 sometime this summer to include push notification.
The version of Facebook for iPhone has nothing to do with the iPhone OS ver

I can't quite say.. But on the other hand, when one of my own apps and a mates app took 1 month to accept. Apple had accepted 3 updates for Tap Tap Revenge. Also, during the Twitpocalypse.. an update for Twitterific took 24 hours for Apple to accept. Whereas ones for Twitterena and Twitterville took over 3 weeks.

Seems like a great update and it will finally replace me having to go onto a computer to actually do anything on facebook. Before it was really only good for viewing friend's profiles. Thanks for posting this!

If its not out today, I think that apple will release it on Friday. Or what would does apple usually do with these big updates?

FIIIIIIIIIIINALy, we can change our profile pic! LOL. That ANNOYED me w/ using the Facebook app

I cannot understand why a one man band has to develop a Facebook Ap when Facebook themselves who are worth Billions cannot be bothered to properly integrate it for the iphone :(, I am glad though that he is making this app and would gladly pay 59p for it's use.

Nothing is called Big updates to Apple. Unless the dev has some contacts in Apple or explicitly asks for fast tracking (which may or may not have any effect) it will take the same as any other app. 2 weeks.

Or unless Apple explicitly calls the developer telling them that they are interested and are checking out any apps from that developer and will look to fast track them. < That's another options.

2 Weeks? More like 1-34 days and any time in between.
