It does the job?? Maybe when it works and I don't have to log out and log back into see something
From what I've seen of the new version, I think it adds features while still keeping things simple.
You can read messages in your inbox? I can't. Plus, compared to the full facebook page, it's barely got any features.
Just...wow. In my world, this version of the Facebook app has been about as big of a piece of garbage as I've used on the iPhone, not even exaggerating. The news feed is the worst as things may not show up, might show up twice, and when you want to click to see what somebody commented, it may or may not show up. Ridiculous.
Surprisingly, I've been able to read the emails in my inbox recently. Not sure how/why that happened. But it still doesn't always mark them as read or deleted next time I launch the app.
I will definitely be upgrading when the new version comes.
Out of curiosity...is there a way to save the old version of the app in iTunes in case one would ever want to revert back?
There is one thing I like about the current app: Status Updates list. The news feed is ok but I like to read everyone's statuses, and the news feed on the official Facebook site doesn't even show you every updated status either. Doesn't seem like the 3.0 update will still have that feature but I'm not sure.
Facebook is my most used app definitely, if only because I'm addicted to keeping up with everything on it. Besides not reading inbox messages and the lack of features like events, birthdays, etc. I've honestly had a great experience with the app as it is.

I think any updates to a top 50 app should be fast-tracked. No reason updates for a popular app should take more than a week to be reviewed.

okay.. so when do you think the Facebook update will actually be APPROVED!! Everytime i go into my app application theirs always an update for the application i dont really use.. i been waiting on facebook update for the past 2 months..

31st?!?! if that has any validity..which i highly doubt..Im gonna be uber pissed..This is one of the most downloaded free apps ever in the app store..I just can't find any reason why they haven't released this update yet..Apple get it TOGETHER!!I think that August 31st would be the logical date since it's two weeks after the update was submitted to the app store. But unless the date came from a reliable source, it's probably just a guess. This is what I read about how apps are reviewed by Apple.
But I'm still hopeful that Apple will approve the update sometime this week.
