That would be so stupid if it was the 31st. This is such a huge criticism of the App Store, this is NOT THE APP that Apple should be taking their sweet time with. So many people are waiting for this update it isn't even funny. WTF could be taking them so long.

And this way, its more unfair to the consumer. Thats worse.

[SARCASM]How DARE Apple make you wait any longer for a FREE app. Facebook should certainly take priority over all the other developers, just because you want it sooner. Maybe you could start a petition to rally the troops, and just try to prove just how "unfair" this is! I mean, with the only other Facebook options being the existing version of the app, or the website with Safari, this is just unbearable, and SO UNFAIR. I'm not sure how we can wait an longer...[/SARCASM]

This has nothing to do with FREE or PAID.

Having to wait more than a couple of days for ANY app after the developer RELEASES it is ****ing ridiculous.

I for one am glad that it's taking the extra time. For an app so widely used it needs to be a solid release.

It's not like as soon as the app is submitted it goes right to a reviewer, there are only 40 reviewers and with an average of 160+ apps being submitted every day means that each reviewer would need to fully test and approve 4 apps per day. When you consider that each app goes past at least two reviewers' desks before it's approved then that doubles the workload. You might think 8 apps a day is a piece of cake but it's a hell of a lot of work. 1 app an hour? Fully examined and tested for major bugs and compliance? Not bloody likely.

Everybody needs to take a damned chill pill already. It's just bloody facebook for gods sake.

sheesh calm down. so what if it doesn't get released till the 31st??? is facebook really THAT important to you? get a life for a few more days. you'll survive. i came to this thread just to see what new features will be coming and all i get is a bunch of bratty kids whining about not being able to wait a week.

I heard that Steve Jobs will download it into his brain at precisely 3:19am tomorrow morning, and then he will prance about the country personally installing the app by licking peoples iphones.

I know this is true because I heard it from my friend's brother who used to work with this guy who's maid is related to steve job's personal yard trimmer.

+10 internet points my good sir!

If you guys think that the 3:00 time was some actual legit thing (which we all know isn't) you forget Apple is located in Cali which is currently at 12:00 in the PST timezone.

If for some reason this was actually legit you might wanna check in 3 hours.
