I'm glad they listened to their users. Hopefully this will be a lesson to other networking sites not to push it too far.

Um, I still think it's weird to blame sites whose sole purpose is to publicly display personal information that you the user voluntarily submit to them for doing their job "too well." It's good they've given some control over to the user on what these feeds display, but the stuff is still up there if you put it there.

Exactly. You've signed up for the site, so you're more than willing to have the information out there. People could easily find out that information before, anyway. I think people just got too pissy about it. It's a great feature.
