After starting the year with the graphite iPhone 12 Pro Max, I switched to the Pacific blue iPhone 12 PM for the spring/summer season.
But, man, I really regret selling my graphite phone now. I wish I still had it laying around and could start using it again.
With the summer holiday over, and going back to work, I wish I had the more premium looking graphite version again.
Anybody else feel the same way?
The blue was a fun change and suited the lighter clothes in the summer and the warm days by the blue ocean.
But, to me, it can’t replace the stealth, professional look of the graphite.
Perhaps I’m just too old, and the blue is too “hip” and “youthful” for me?
I’ve tried putting on black cases, but I just can’t “unsee” or ignore the blue camera module or the blue details at every cutout.
Anyway, what colors do you think Apple will release this fall?
I predict the silver and gold colors are the stayers.
But, I wish they would bring back a black phone (not space gray or graphite). I don’t think we’ve had a black model since the 7-series (remember the jet black? It was gorgeous, although it scratched way too easily). I don’t care if it’s matte or glossy. I just want true black.
I also there’s a good chance that they’ll introduce a “product red” color for their Pro lineup. They’ve done the midnight green and the pacific blue. I guess red might be the next “new” color.
What do you think / wish for?

Purely personal of course. I love the blue and am by no means a teenager.

Easy fix: either get a case or wait for the new ones in a few months. Since the phone seems an important fashion item for you, probably the latter.

So Calif
My Pacific Blue iPhone Pro matches my 24" M1 iMac in blue - gotta love that color coordination.

I don't feel the same way. I've never even considered seasons when deciding if I like a color; it might be because I spend so much time indoors. I would also say that the blue seems more "premium". So, for example, if there were an up-charge for color choice, I would expect the black to be the base model and the blue to cost a bit more.

I have both, I originally purchased a graphite unlocked and then purchased a pacific blue one a few months later through AT&T with the hopes of using it as more of a camera to take video and pictures with and not so much as my daily phone. Since having it however I’ve been using the PB exclusively as my daily driver and I haven’t really used the graphic that much.

I’ve always been a black/space grey iPhone guy. However, I had a white Moto G at certain point of my life... I’ve had a Space Grey iPhone 8 for almost 3 years, and I’m almost certain that my next iPhone (probably an iPhone 13 mini) won’t be a black/grey/graphite one, but rather a red or white/silver one. Or maybe even a blue or green one, if they are saturated colors.

I’ve always chosen the black iPhone because I was afraid of getting tired of them. However, after all this many years, I’ve become really tired of the black color. My iPad Pro is silver, and my MacBooks are always silver as well. If the next Product (RED) iPhone 13 mini is a darker, saturated red, I will probably choose that. If it is a pinky red, like the current one, I will most probably go with the white/silver one, just like the other devices I currently own.

Well I wish they’ve gotten back to Midnight Green - never had an iPhone 11 Pro but I miss the color so much. Or inverness green to match my band.
Ok, any kind of darker than the playful iPhone 12 Acid green Apple please!

I had the baby blue iPhone 5c and I miss it!

I went off my usual color choice with my current iPhone SE 2020. I knew I was getting a case made from baseball leather, and to go with the red stitches I got the product[RED] phone, lol.

I’m considering upgrading to the 13, pending evaluating the reality of it. I am probably getting the blue, assuming it is still in the lineup.

Wow, thanks for all the feedback so far 😊
Your love and support for the blue phone, is helping me convince myself that the pacific blue is as beautiful as I thought when I first saw it in person. It was “love at first sight” and I remember thinking that the graphite looked so boring. So, this might indeed be a case of “boredom” and wanting what you haven’t got… the blue does look amazing and different from the rest.
I’m not going to go into some deep analysis of the why I wanted a graphite phone (this is a tech forum, not a psychiatry forum), but it may also be the “ocd” in me, as my watch is graphite, my MacBook Air is space gray, my AirPods max are space gray, the gray of the graphite blends nicely with the dark theme of my phone, etc.
Anyway, I won’t ramble on.. just wanted to thank you for trying to convince me that the blue is still a great phone and helping me to hang on to it until the iPhone 13 launches 😊

You are on the right track. But you could be daring and take it a step further......ignore the new 13 and keep your 12 for.....better sit down, it might be a shock to your system........a 2nd year. Money saved and proof that one can cope very well using last years model. Just a suggestion

I don´t know, but I feel a kind of sarcastic/hostile attitude in your replies. I hope I am mistaken, as I see no reason for replying with sarcasm. And you don't know me, or my reasons for acting like I do or feeling like I do.
Anyway, there are lots of bigger problems in the world (and in my life) these days, so the choice of an iPhone color is such a small thing, that it's not worth getting into an argument about.
The thing I wanted to ask (in a light-hearted manner), was simply if anybody else out there had purchased the Pacific blue iPhone and then regretted it later on.
I didn't buy the PB iPhone just because of the season (though I see how it could be interpreted that way from the way I wrote it), but also because I fell in love with it the moment I saw it, and frankly, also because of all the hype (the "new color", "the flagship color", etc) after having watched several YouTube reviews, where they praised the color.
I have also only owned grey/black iPhones since the iPhone 4, so I wanted to try something else.
But, the taste of colors is a personal matter, and in the end, each and everyone has to make up their own mind about what colors suit them.
And, in my case, I think the black/gray/graphite (whatever name Apple puts on it) is the one I prefer in the long run. It blends perfectly with the rest of my accessories and my style.
But, it's been nice trying out something different for a while.
So, I kindly thank those of you who have contributed in a helpful way, and I will ignore posts like "consulting a therapist", "a shock to your system", etc, as they are on the borderline of being personal insults.
Enjoy your phone, whatever color you settled for, and have a nice day!
