Yep. 23 "false" app store updates for me today. I'm at work with no wifi, so I'll have to see if it's figured out when I get home tonight. Grr AppStore.

Yeah, I was thinking it's probably something to do with signing, similar thing happened before due to signing last year for widgets.

Least they go away when you click update - unlike the Mac App Store false updates a while back

Affects all apps that were updated after iOS 9 release. They all have their ratings reset as well.

I suspect app thinning. Apps which were 20mb are now down to 10 and other apps which have one size listed in the App Store are much smaller once downloaded.

Is that fact sp the apps you updated yesterday are now showing up as smaller but with the old date?

yup, just had 15 app updates, of which only 4 or so were from today. the rest say sept 18-22 as updated dates and were already updated back then. but I've seen this before a few times, so i don't think its app thinning.

This is most likely to do with App thinning and Bitcode to add the extra code for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. Nothing to worry about :p

Where did you get this factual realistic information? Or are you just making it up as you go along like the so called" it lags because IOS9 has been indexing for days"?!?

I have one update waiting that doesn't even have the What's New link. Just the app name, version, size and date. I'm not sure I've seen that before.

Annoyingly, PowerPoint won't complete the update. It's been going all evening but never completes

Edit: removed app and installed again. Success

Seems like more and more updated apps are popping up on my phone. Had to check the dates of the update themselves to find "actual" new ones to update.

Same here. When I did actually have an update, it got stuck as well. Had to uninstall and reinstall it to work.

Apple has had 12 hours to explain why this is happening to a confused public. Ad as far as I know they have said nothing.

Is it safe to update? Are most of you guys updating or waiting for an explanation?

Has the size of the apps changed as has been sugg4ested? Also is this thread the best source of information on this topic? Someone pointed to a reddit thread but that thread sheds no more light on this strangeness....

Apple literally never says anything. It's probably related to the xcode hack and re-verifying all the apps in the app store. App thinning is something developers need to implement so that'll happen probably over the next few months / years.

Glad it's not just me, up to 15 now over here in the UK. One of them is pretty old going back to the 15/9/15.
