Crap, I wanted to use my license to install the compatible version of TG-Pro on the Lion partition and they don't offer for 10.7 and 10.8 anymore because their licensing verification partner uses TLS 1.2 connection and earlier TG-Pro can't connect using it. MacFanControl Pro costs €16+ which is not acceptable considering I paid for analogical software. So, if I want TG-Pro for my older system I'm left with no alternatives than to find a cracked version. Bruh.

+1 iStat Menus . It's easy to setup, use, and gives you fine grained control of fans. I'm running it now with 9 levels of fan speed for different temperatures. It automatically switches fan speed based on the temperature thresholds that I set.

Turbo Boost Switcher Pro is also useful for managing energy consumption which affects Mac temperature.
