therefore download WhoopieCushion.

for those of you who hate all these dumb, useless apps - at least this will help eliminate dumb, useless apps that make way too much money.

I really don't get how if an application like this costs money is a problem. If people buy it, that's their choice.

How does that affect the quality of the paid apps? If someone wants to put it out and try to charge, good for them. They may make nothing, or they may make some $.

And how will this help eliminate the "dumb useless apps that make too much money?" If someone thinks those apps are dumb, they wouldn't buy them in the first place!

it makes finding the quality apps harder to find.

it just takes up space in the itunes store. if you have a basket of good apples, then you start loading up with lots of bad apples, it's harder to find the good ones.

Yeah, and all the big chain stores should only carry the products that I want, so they could make them smaller and I could walk less. In fact, of of their stores should be next to my house. Why should I care what anyone else is interested in?

I don't understand why you would even need an app to make fart noises ????

I do it for free.... and I don't need a gadget either... ;)

Hahaha this app is hilarious. The touch screen works through my jeans too, so I just put my iPod in my back pocket and casually tap the screen. People are about to ask me why I just tapped my buttcheek, but then...Hilarity ensues! :D

A Category All Its Own: Body Noises

"Space" is essentially free. Unlike a brick and mortar store, that's not the problem. The problem is searchability and categorization.

The solution isn't that there should be less apps. Think of music in the iTunes store... there are a lot more songs than apps and yet there are ways to find what you want, like genres, soundtracks, artist, Genie, year, etc. The problem is that so many apps compete under "Entertainment". Heck, pretty much all of the music in iTunes is "Entertainment".

What the AppStore needs is more granular categories, and perhaps "Fart Noises" needs to be its own category (body noises?). It's hard to reconcile that a single-function fart app is in the same category as all other "entertainment" apps.

Now I must disclose that our app, 100sounds, does have a couple of gas noises, but that's just 1% of the 200 or so sounds included.

Oh Yay:confused:

Hey everybody, I just installed iFibre with iBran extensions which has upgraded my iFart lite to iFart Pro...........Geez, just what I always wanted and a bargain at only $9.99!

I also got wind that iShart has finally seen the light of day after a lot of pushing by the developers to get Apple to deliver the goods.:D:D:D

Certainly got me hanging around the App Store like a bad smell....

I cant believe the massive influx of copycat Pull My Finger applications that have jumped on the farty bandwagon. As another poster said earlier in this thread, too many drops the quality so you dont know which one to go for. Most are simulated flatulence - which defeats the object a bit ... and consist of naff sound samples linked to a 'button' and then charge 59p (99c) for the 'privelege'. One of the worst offenders is BurpBox in my opinion - poor quality samples and only a few of them at that. Ironically - I couldve sampled the stuff off my own eBay product which has been produced over the past ten years .. trouble is ... I cant program an iPhone App so I'll have to bow to new technology! But as a 'connossieur' of such things and purveyor of genuine quality 'output' I can safely say that at LEAST half the fart and burp apps are just fart-sounding noises and only a proportion are the real thing. But if Apple simply allow everything to go through on the App Store without quality-testing then to be honest - its going to be a shame for all concerned. I sugges ti fyou feel 'curious' about install ing a fart app then go for the free Whoopie Cushion and take it from there .. its pretty much similar to the paid stuff ... thanks ...OR (Free plug imminent) you could always go for a UK old-school product which provides the 'real McCoy' on the antiquated CD medium! :p (remember those?) ("Thats enough free product placement!"-Forum Ed.)

It's obvious if you notice... some of them are actually popular, and thus must be getting thousands of downloads.

Popular apps, no matter how stupid, bring people to the app store, where they might buy other apps as well (thus more money for Apple and developers in general).

Why stupid apps are popular is a completely different topic: maybe it's that there are stupid people with money; but that's not something that you or I or Apple can do anything about (other than trying to collect as much of their money as possible :)

All these ****** apps are effing up the whole store....Apple should have stuck with its first judgement on these apps...

Yes of course, apple definitely knows what we should or should not have  If you don't like something then don't get it, it's quite simple.

yet two of them are in the top 10 paid apps. >.<

There were so many headlines about pull my finger when Apple did not approve it. So now since it has been approved (more and hype) they are in the 10 top. Just like Trisim, once CNN wrote their article about how much money that guy made Trism was back in the top 10.
