Fav FTP program?

right, since dreamweaver has started acting up on me when it comes to ftp transfers, plus since i'm running a website using a CMS now, i need a fast and reliable FTP program.
i've got Cyberduck now, but it hogs up too much processor power for me to be able to keep using it...
i've downloaded the demo for Forklift, which looks pretty cool.
also, there's Transmit and loads of others.
the basic criteria is for the program to be fast and very lightweight.
doesn't have to be freeware, i'm willing to shell out a few € for a good FTP client...
so, what do you suggest?
 
Transmit is incredibly awesome. I couldn't live without it. At first you just think "Wow this is a pretty nice FTP app...", but then you start discovering the advanced features. Droplets, Docksend, synchronization, the list goes on and on. So amazingly worth the price if lots of FTPing is something you do as part of your job. Go ahead and download it, it's a fully functioning demo for 15 days I think. It works just fine for my coworkers who are still stuck on PowerBooks.
 
I have used a FireFox extension - FireFTP, and been very impressed, I only did light use on it, but liked the interface.

just giving you another option to consider :)
 
Cyberduck meets all my needs. I initially had Transmit on my G4 iMac running Panther and had issues with it, hence why I made the switch to Cyberduck. Now I haven't looked back.

Plus, Cyberduck is free, Transmit isn't. :cool:
 
Transmit at home. Heavy-weight FTP software.

Fetch at work. For some reason Fetch is the only software that will work with our proxy server at work. Also the developer gave me a free license as I work for an Educational Institute. Fetch is a fantastic bit of software. Worked great on my old 1GHz G4 iMac.

Then Transmit.


I really wish FlashFXP would come to mac though. :(
 
Yeah, back in my Windows days I always used to use Flash FXP as well - great app. I could see Transmit definitely being the tool of choice for power users, but for me Cyberduck meets all my needs. And once agin, the price is right! ;)

I must use "lftp" 20 times a day. No kidding. lftp.yar.ru/

lftp is free and a dare you to find one more "light weight" or faster.

It has some nice features like the abilty to go through a tree of files
and folders and only send what has changed. It can sync in both
directions. Light weight - the binary on this machine is only 52K
(yes K not M)
It is also cros platform and runs on Solaris, Linux, Windows, Mac OS
and many others. So you can always use the same program.
You ca get lftp from the Fink project as well as the authors web site

used Transmit demo a bit, looks pretty cool and it really is lightweight, perfect for me! :)
i'm afraid cyberduck is out of the question, too heavy...
 
doesn't or hasn't anyone ever used Forklift?
it looks a bit like Transmit but seems a lot better!
well, as far as i could tell from the demo version...
plus it's pretty lightweight too, and fits right in with Leopard.
any reviews?
