Well, maybe lie isn't the right word.

What's your favorite presented, iron clad thing Apple has said they'll deliver that turned out not to be true?

Walkie talkie on Apple Watch?
Open source FaceTime?
3GHz G5?
Maybe a good one, like the bumped specs on the first-gen MacBook Pro?

I'd love to hear some more!

That they care about their customers. The fact is that their primary care is profit, any subsequent concomitant care ultimately leads to that end.

"Apple is committed to Blu-ray"
This is a good one.

That the 2014 Mac Mini is an upgrade from the 2012.

I guess you could put plus sized phones and induction charging in the list.

I don't recall the specific quote. When Apple was developing Copland and Gershwin. They claimed all the PCI Macs would get their next generation OS. Then it was cancelled. Mac OS X was never made available for those models (pre G3). Although hacks allowed it to run on some of them. So, those Macs never got a next generation OS.

Any place but here or there....
"We price for the value of our products."

Any time Tim mentions something about the mac and the pipeline, most recently:

"We do plan for the Mac Mini to be an important part of our product line going forward."

I watch what Apple do (dissolve the Mac OS team, continue to sell aging Macs at higher prices, not upgrading the Mini or Pro until they got backlash and not test the heck out of the OS and hardware before it's released.)

Indeed.... those were some weird, but oh so interesting times.
Copland never saw the light of day, but NeXTSTEP came along with Steve and Mac OS X Server (Rhapsody) was made available on the G3.
I remember I had Mac OS X 10.1.x running on a PowerMac 9600 350 MHz.

Then came the difficult PPC times... G4 FSB speed limit... G5 power syndrome, never made 3 GHz etc...

It is missing the word "glass", but that could be taken from Apple's iPhone 8 press release.

I find it insane how they can blatantly market the iPhone 8 in such a manner.

The only reason why the iPhone 8 has a glass design was because they wanted to add in wireless charging. It was a necessity rather than a feature on its own.

You don't need glass to do wireless charging. I had wireless charging in my Lumia 820 5 years ago, it had a plastic back.
