how about the iPads music player being rendered useless for many upgraders.

I guess this isnt a universal issue but it is widespread enough that it's worth mentioning as a lost feature, but for many people then the iPad's iOS5 music player became much less functional/broken. They took away 30sec skip and speed control which makes podcasts less appealing, and in some cases the playback is stuck at 1/2 speed with no means to adjust it.

For me then Im in the 1/2 speed crowd where my audio use on my iPad is crippled because podcasts/audiobooks is all I used to listen to on it but now they're 1/2speed and unusable.

What do you mean by this one? I still have select all when I'm typing. Do you mean it's gone when you're reading (e.g. if you select from a webpage)? Was it there previously? (Ooh, and I didn't know there was this increase/decrease quote level feature now in composing e-mails!)

yes when reading you can't select all. I used to copy news articles from ap mobile but now you only get the copy option so you would have to manually select all same with a email.

Digital Zoom In Camera ?!?!

I can't find it now!!!!! In iOS 5
But on apple web site it's no longer on the iPhone page, but still on the iPad 2s page? Yet on not the iPad 2 since iOS 5?

Seriously? The name of the app really throws you that bad? This is just to align the iPhone with the iPad, since it always had a music and video app. Why should they be mixed anyway? They are completely different medium.

Why not make the iPad run an iPod app? Or rename the app iTunes? I'm not a huge of fan of the name of "music". It's not a deal breaker, but it's not something I would have requested.

A big feature missing is audiobook bookmarks

Audiobook behavior in ios4 and all the other iPods would automatically bookmark where you are at if you decided to play music instead of listening to your audiobook to completion. Apple seemed clueless on this one and was asking for all sorts of unnecessary system logs. Would anybody else care to report to Apple as well?

I'm about ready to return the 4s as this is the only audio feature I regularly use.

(If you read in your cd audiobooks into aac files and rename to m4b you have an audiobook.)

I'm possibly a dunce, but I can't seem to find the option to switch the off the double alert for Messages?

That's still there.

either I've disabled it or it just didnt install properly, I don't care either way as it was kind of annoying to have pop up

also the ability to click and hold on one photo and then move your finger over other photos to select them is gone, I am a little annoyed they got rid of that, I used it a lot when deleting junk photos on my iphone, or photos I have already uploaded but never deleted.
