Just press F3

Sure works for windows open but not tabs within windows. So there are different ways to handle it depending on what you are looking for. I just like floating the mouse over the task bar "ah, there it is."

Then again I like the desktops on OS X better.

Give and take.

BUT, for the love of all that is good in this world, give us a real remote desktop server.

The ability in Windows to hover over apps in task bar and have full size windows pop up helping you find what you need quickly. Finding windows in OSX is clumsy in comparison.

There is an App for that! HyperDock.

from windows side of things then must admit 'invert selection' is one I always miss when it comes to selecting files in finder

other than that one I'd prefer a way to set 'show inspector' as the default right click option rather than get info (ie Get info via the option key override, rather than Show inspector) for single files they're both the same but for multiple selections SI gives cummulative results versus umpteen individual Get Info dialogs appearing all over the screen. Not going to happen but I can but dream :)

Finder: information for multiple items

That's possible with Mavericks.

Show/Hide Inspector: Option-Command-I

Get Summary Info: Control-Command-I

Talking about them here definitely won't change a thing.

Talking about them there definitely won't change a thing, either.

Actually i have used the feedback form before and had direct contact with Apple back requesting further details and them then being implemented into the product.

So people are listening at the other end on the feedback forms, but i guess they get a LOT.

This. Selecting multiple files and pressing Get Info should default to bringing up the Inspector! Very jarring and user unfriendly.

I'd've liked Finder level file transfer of documents, movies, music etc. to my various iOS devices.
