Removing the port sounds inconvenient. I tend to wireless charge at home but it’s handy having a plug-in cable for travelling and at work. I also plug earphones into my phone so this might be the end completely of listening to music with my iPhone. I’ve already gotten rid of iTunes and now only use amazon music. Back to the days of having a separate MP3 player lol.

From what has been said though it will have a smart connector like MagSafe to charge will see though a lot can happen in a year

I don’t mind as I charge at night when I go bed and I always have 50% left at night so I never need to charge during the day unless I forget to charge or don’t want it on the wireless charger properly

I often thought it was more reliable myself until my last two iPhones had the port die first. I file my reliability thoughts under anecdotes right now and would happily try alternatives. Wireless charging for now.

Interesting. I’ve only encountered one device with a bad lightning port in all the devices I’ve sold. It was an old iPad Air.
