Yes, for that specific person, it won't be FedEx home. I was just saying that for the benefit of many people who will be getting it via FedEx home. :0

No one will be getting it by Fedex Home. Fedex Home will only deliver items that are shipped using the standard 3-7 business day ground service to residential addresses. Apple will most likely be shipping these via Fedex Priority Overnight with Saturday Delivery, which is a Fedex Express service. Hence I commented that Fedex Home will not be making any of the deliveries for iPad.

Here are the details of all Fedex services, including Priority Overnight and Home Delivery:

So, using this method, it tells me that a FedEx shipment made on Friday, coming from TN to me in FL, would be delivered by noon on Saturday. That sounds promising.

I believe Apple bulk-ships to the main FedEx hub in Memphis for individual distribution (at least to the Southeast, based on the details of my 3GS pre-order).

Actually Apple bulk-ships these units to their warehouses scattered around the country. There happens to be one in Memphis, TN but also several in CA, PA, etc. Depending on your region and availability, the iPad will ship out of one of those regional warehouses.

That's a good point. I was forgetting that even though we "bought" the standard shipping that they will still go out FedEx Express - you are correct.
