Feel like killing my Retina 5K iMac

There's nothing wrong with your Mac - the AMD video driver for the Retina display only works in Windows 10. It will probably crash if you do other stuff like try to run a game.

Mach 4 works on Windows 10. Can't you just upgrade to that?

Ahh this is news to me, can things also be ran with the USB port with Mach 4?
