I suggest you get it. It runs fine on my 2.0 Alu MacBook, medium settings so any Alu and Pro and even iMac users that like to game go for it! Awesome game, picked it up last week lol but yeah

Steam: aznguyen316

*edit* This deal has ended/expired. Hope you guys got in on it!

I've had it for around a month now. I play Versus almost exclusively, which is great fun. :)

I just saw that yesterday. I'm actually installing Windows on my Mac Pro right now, so I'm going to pick it up and join the fun. See you in the horde!

glad to hear it! Runs perfect on my x64 Tiny Vista Bootcamp, just finished playing some versus, I suck bad, but it was fun!

Heh, bought this for my girlfriend for Valentines day (Valve fangirl :D, snagged a good one here!) for the full price in a store. Got back and it was £13!

Yea. So £13 for us Brits. Worth every penny. Runs perfectly (everything on high except the GPU setting - put that on med) on a 9400M Macbook. Runs really smooth on my X1600 iMac with everything on low (but resolution at 1680x1050).

Great deal. Like raggedjimmi I bought this as a gift for a friend. Turned out they already had it, so I kept it and found out first-hand what a good game it is :D

can't complain @ $25, I'm enjoying it a lot. Wish I could run it in Crossover though, but ain't no thang.

With prices like this, I am able to buy two copies for my roommates. I was going to buy one but at $25, I was able to get 2 for 1.

Now we never have to worry about not having enough people to play. Everyone has Left 4 Dead.

driver problem

problem. i bough the game when it was on sale, loaded it and everything, but i can't play it. I'm running steam through Crossover and steam warns my that my video drivers are not up to date to play the game. i have searched and updated my computer but it appears that my drivers are up to date. at any rate i have no video when i play. I'm running a top of the line mac pro, custom made with the best options. any ideas please? feel free to YIM for answers as well. thank you. i really want to play this.
if it helps, it also gives this error message about Half life 2 episode two, but the rest of my games work fine.

does any have a problem when you start the game but you dont see the menu icons but you can see the background full of burning cars and zombies?

Your problem is Crossover will not work on Left 4 Dead. The issue is something about the gsgl or something.. it's in the codeweaver L4D forum. You shouldn't have a problem running Bootcamp though since you have a MacPro. It's why I said Bootcampers in my thread title, it won't work (yet) in Crossover until either Apple updates drivers on the Mac side for the nvidia or codeweavers does something.

no menu is typically seen when using crossover.. you're not are you? Other than that, can't help without system information.. should put it in your sig.

Heh, a few more friends from other communities got this. Nothing beats a good Steam sale!

I picked it up and $25 was a steal. Excellent game. I'm completely new to Steam/PC gaming. Is there a way for us MacR people to meet up and play through the campaign together?

I just had to do it too. I went and bought it. At this price, other publishers ought to reconsider selling their games for half price as well (looks at gametreeonline, Ancient Cider Ports for 39,99 brrrr).

I saw this sale listed on another forum. For $25 I couldn't resist. I haven't played this type of game against people in ages... probably Quake or Quake 2 back in 1997. It was a blast meeting up with some friends to do this.

And is runs perfectly on my Mac Pro under Windows 7 Beta through Boot Camp.

Can anyone tell me what the differences are between buying this on a physical DVD or via the Steam store?

1. Do you get a separate install key with the download version as you do with the DVD?

2. Is it the case that irrespective of how you purchase the game, the key is permanently tied to a Steam account once you register it?

3. Say I gift L4D to a friend (who I know has a slow 'Net connection), if I copied/lent them my L4D install DVD could they use that to install the game I've bought for them with their install key (see question 1.), or does it have to be downloaded via Steam?

I'm not that keen on the DRM aspects of this :(
