The one accessory you can take advantage of would be a Xi wireless charger (There are many types), which the iPhone X has wireless charging capabilities. It's nice to have, Especially in the dark with docking.

Don't look for defects. Otherwise defects will find you. Just enjoy the iPhone for what it is and if you do find something wrong with the iPhone, you have a warranty and/or 14 days to return it.

The answer is no... Smartphones are not a necessity of life (yet) but if it makes @Kardinal1911 happy it should matter.

Wrong, the answer is yes you need a smartphone. In today's heavily connected society, not having one can be detrimental even to work. However, the question really becomes, do you really need an X.

Does anybody really need anything? Beyond your basic food/beer/shelter. Curious here ;)

See above.

This is a first world point of view.

You wouldn't be one of those persons who buys only what you need, how much you need and no more would you? The kind where paying more than you need to is seen as a personal affront?

I ask because I'm one of those people who buys what I want, how much I want and if the need box happens to get checked so much the better. If I want it and I can afford it or work it so I can get it I will. If I can't, but I still want it I'm patient and will wait for it. But the price of it is what it is to me.

I'm just curious because I've had a few discussions with those who don't share my opinion and it's been interesting.

Nope. I buy what I feel returns to me the value. That is why I forwent buying an X. I didn't feel the return investment in innovation merited the extra $300. There is also a notion of need v want. But ultimately, I need to choose whatever returns a benefit to me. That benefit can be simplicity or a "wow, new XYZ feature"

Thats fine for you then. But who are you to question why the OP needs or wants one. That was not their question and quite frankly its none of your business.

Neither is it yours when you give purchasing advise, yet you still give it out. However, I am not questioning as to if the OP should not get it [or not], I am asking as to why he decided to get it. You seem to not comprehend the post.

You should get the Verizon or factory unlocked (which is the same as the Verizon one) version of the iPhone X instead of the T-Mobile version. It works on all major carriers in the United States out of the box (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint).

Congrats on the X, devil dog! I went with the unlocked model from Apple and use it with MetroPCS. If I PCS in the Army I can change carriers if needed and still use my iPhone X.

Thanks for the insight... to answer a few questions...

No I don’t NEED an X, but I definitely WANT an X... as I’ve served my country in war and retired I think I can merit a nice trinket every now and again.

I definitely want the global version however I want to trade my 7+ in and since I’m
Late to the party I’m not getting top dollar on it anymore..

I am definitely doing the insurance with Apple Care fromT Mobile...

The wireless charging capabilty does sound intriguing although I’ve heard it’s painfully slow... I have the 29w fast charger already...

And I’m definitely picking up a case ASAP

Think you for your service. Enjoy your retirement and the rewards that come with it.

No-one needs an X but plenty of people want one.

I don't need both an X and an 8 but I wanted them and they suit me fine. It's my money.

The world was fine before smartphones were introduced. It's a luxury, not a necessity.
