How is the phone registered into apple care?
Dunno. Haven't asked them. Next time I'm down there I'll ask.

Did your job exist before smartphones? The smartphone probably makes it easier, but I'm sure the job still got done without it.
No, it didn't. Businesses change with the times and things that were once not necessary are now a requirement. I was just pointing out that sometimes it's needed. Many jobs don't require one.

Just curious if you knew.
Was in an apple store the other day and this person broke their X and mentioned apple care was included by t-mobile but the phone wasn’t registered

I'll make sure to double check with my carrier then to make sure it's registered. If they make that claim then they need to back it up. Thanks for the heads up.

Make sure there’s no dust under the camera lens. Also get the spacegrey very nice color... I love mine. Not a hugh fan of Face ID but I do love the rest of the phone.

Thanks first day has been pretty good I’ve had no Face ID failures at all... I was expecting them based on what I’ve been told and sold in the forums

Don't look for defects. Otherwise defects will find you.
Worst advice on here. Be smart and do a quick check for the big defects. But on the X, there aren't any. In general, if something is wrong with a phone, you'll want to replace it sooner rather than later.

No I don’t NEED an X, but I definitely WANT an X... as I’ve served my country in war and retired I think I can merit a nice trinket every now and again.
Thank you for your service. I kinda get what that poster was saying when he asked you if you really needed to get an X. Get whatever you'd like, but IMHO the X is really not worth the asking price.

Either you didn't understand my post or misconstrued it. If there is a "Big defect", don't you think that would commonly be noticed in the first place? My point was, if you have read through these forums, there are some who take flashlights to their screens to look for defects, those are the types of things that I don't necessarily think people should be looking for. Big difference between what I suggested versus other "Big" defects.

That's what warrantees are for and 14 day return periods.

I'm convinced if you properly set up FaceID in a well lit room (without a hat or glasses) most people won't have any problems at all. It quickly adapts to hats and glasses. You shouldn't even need to train it. In the rare case it does fail, just train it and you are good to go. I haven't had any misfires in well over a month.
