Finally Found Something I Hate About OSX...

Unfortunately, I tried to find a command line alternative to change the default browser in com.apple.Safari.plist, but I couldn't. It's there somewhere, but I'm not seeing it.

Open up safari plist, if you're curious.

Just checked, yes, it changed to it's current model in Panther.

was it not because Safari reached a certain upgrade with panther?

Odd because MS used to do this with IE, then changed it. Apple had it right, then changed it to be in Safari. I use FF as the default, and was able to change it there without even touching Safari, but they should make it easier. Maybe send them a (nice) e-mail and hope they change it back in Leopard. Sometimes they actually listen to people's suggestions.

Any of the system enhancers (Cocktail, TinkerTool, etc.) can set this, and many other things for you.

Try the RCDefault preference pane or the Internet Connect Switch menu bar item.

I was just thinking that earlier this day. It would be at least OK if other browsers could (or would) change the option, I think some do, but not Shiira.
