Just checked, yes, it changed to it's current model in Panther.

was it not because Safari reached a certain upgrade with panther?
 
Odd because MS used to do this with IE, then changed it. Apple had it right, then changed it to be in Safari. I use FF as the default, and was able to change it there without even touching Safari, but they should make it easier. Maybe send them a (nice) e-mail and hope they change it back in Leopard. Sometimes they actually listen to people's suggestions.

Glad everyone here can appreciate constructive criticism.
 
I completely agree!

I was just thinking that earlier this day. It would be at least OK if other browsers could (or would) change the option, I think some do, but not Shiira.
